Boca Raton,a lovely city with a not so lovely name meaning ‘Mouth of the Rat’, is located in Palm Beach County in Florida. This beautiful ocean-side city gained its ugly name for the dangerous rocks in its bay. But the name hasn’t deterred tourists, who come to Boca Ratonfor fun in the sun, great attractions, culture and art. The Boca Raton Museum of Art and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens boast elaborate works of permanent exhibits, as well as traveling collections.
For those who prefer the beach, check out Delray, Palm Beach or Deerfield, just to name a few. Once you pull your feet out of the ocean, discover places like Mizner Park or Royal Palm Place. Boca Ratonalso has a pulsating nightlife, with bars and clubs like Club Boca and the New York Comedy Club. From golf courses to spas, water sports and sunbathing, tourists will find it really easy to relax and have fun in Boca Raton.
When To Go
Boca Raton has mild temperatures all year around, so winters and summers feel pretty much the same. The coldest time of the year generally takes place in January, but average temperatures are only around 60 and 70s Fahrenheit (15-20 Celsius). As summer fades into fall, hurricane season begins to pick up for the state of Florida. This stormy season runs from the first week of June to the beginning of December.

June to August (summer): Average high is 92°F (33°C)
September to November (fall): Average high is 78°F (26°C)
Getting There
By air, the Fort Lauderdale International Airport is located about 20 miles (32 km) south of Boca Raton and is the preferred airport for those coming to the city. Palm Beach International Airport also has flights to Boca Raton and is just north of the city. Both airports have ground transportation for passengers needing to get to their accommodations in Boca Raton. There's also the Boca Raton Airport, which services some airlines and private charters.
On land, tourists can drive in on Interstate 95 to reach Boca Raton. While getting around the city, Florida’s Turnpike will offer lighter traffic for visitors discovering the city by way of rental car.
By train, the Tri-Rail, CSX Transportation and the Florida East Coast Railway all serve the city. The Tri-Rail commuter train has a station located in the southern part of the city, west of Interstate 95 off of Yamato Road.
