This means you can express yourself any way you want, and as long as you are not breaking any laws, no one will bat an eye. A lot of artsy people live here, so if you enjoy cultural activities and entertainment, you must add Austinto your ‘bucket list’ of places to visit. There are numerous theatre companies offering a range of productions year-round in Austin. The Paramount Theatre is quite popular, and if you are a fan of sketch comedy, you must see a show by Esther's Follies. The Off Center offers fine musical and drama productions, and The Hideout Theatre specializes in sidesplitting stand-up comedy. Aside from theatre, Austin is known for its live musical venues, hence the moniker ‘Live Music Capital of the World’. When To Go
Austinhas very nice weather all year long, so most people can enjoy this city no matter when they visit. The summer months can be quite hot, however, so you may want to avoid May through September if you cannot handle temperatures in the mid- to upper 30s°C (mid-90s to low 100s°F). The winter months sometimes bring temperatures as low as 4°C (39°F), but an Austin winter is typically very short and mild, so it can feel more like fall to many visitors. Fall days in Austin are extremely pleasant with warm days and cool evenings. Spring is also very mild, but there are frequent rainstorms during this time. While it does rain throughout the year, it picks up in the late spring and early summer.
Fall and spring most pleasant, hot summers
Rains about 5-7 cm (2-2.8 in) per month; storms in spring
Flood danger in lower areas
