In general, the climate in Alameda is mild during the summer months and cool during the winter months. September is said to be the warmest month of the year, reaching a high temperature of approximately 23ºC. A chilly 7ºC marks the coldest average temperature of the year in January.
Getting There & Around
There are two major modes of transportation to get into the city. Alameda is accessible via 23rd Street off the 880 freeway, as well as the Alameda-Oakland ferry. It is also in close proximity to Oakland International Airport.
Public transportation in the area is well organized. Regular AC Transit routes and several BART stations make getting around town easy, and because it is a small island, it is hard to get lost.
