Sunderland Climate

Sunderland has fairly mild weather with low temperatures and plenty of rain year round. Summer highs peak at 19°C, and the months of June through August receive 12-15 cm of rain monthly. December through February are cold months with lows around 2-3°C, and November is the wettest month with 20 cm of rain.

Getting There & Around

The Durham Tees Valley, Newcastle International Airport and the Sunderland Central train station all service Sunderland, making travel from anywhere in the UK or overseas quite easy. If you prefer to drive, you will access the town using the A1(M) and A1 highways.

You can get around Sunderland cheaply using a city bus or taxi in town. The city has an extensive bicycle lane network as well.
