Palace Pier

The Palace Pier is one of the oldest public attractions in the town of Brighton, having been constructed in 1899. Measuring 537 metres in length, the pier took nearly 10 years to build and featured several pavilions and a theatre. Over the years since its opening, the Palace Pier has been restored and renovated many times, adding new rides and amusements for visitors. Tourists of all ages will enjoy a trip to the pier. The attraction is an especially big hit with families, since many of its rides and games cater to children. ... Read more »

Palace Pier Top 3

  • Brave some of the thrill rides at the Palace Pier in Brighton, including the Turbo Coaster, The Booster, and The Wild River Flume.
  • Head to the Palace Pier’s two arcades, The Dome and the Palace of Fun, to play amusement park games such as basketball, air hockey, and popular video games.
  • Take a trip back in time by riding some of the vintage park rides at the Brighton Pier, including the carousel and the dodgems.

Getting There

Since Brighton is one of the outer suburbs of London, it doesn’t have its own airport. However, tourists who fly into the area can land at Gatwick Airport and then take a direct train line to Brighton. Visitors who are coming from other parts of England can generally find a train route that travels to the suburb. The town does not operate a public transport system, so tourists will need to either hire a car or a taxicab to reach the Palace Pier. Guests can take the M25 highway or the A27 highway to the Palace Pier.
