Blackburn Climate

Blackburn experiences a temperate maritime climate, with cool summers and mild winters. Temperatures typically reach highs of 20ºC during July and August, falling to highs of 7ºC in winter. The area experiences annual rainfall of around 800 mm, with precipitation reaching its highest levels during the month of October.

Getting There & Around

Blackburn’s nearest airport is Blackpool International Airport, which is located 37 km to the west of downtown. Manchester Airport, one of the UK’s busiest airports, is also nearby, located 45 km southeast. At both airports, tourists can pick up a rental car or a taxi to take them to their base within the town.

The town is home to an extensive network of roads, rendering the use of a rental car highly convenient. It is home to its own railway station, located downtown; the railway station is served by Northern Rail trains. The local bus station is located just outside of the rail station.
