We booked an executive room with sea views, unfortunately there was nothing executive about the room at all! The sea view was spoilt by the dirtyness of the windows. The radiators, apart from not working, were filthy, as was the extractor fan. Aircon only blew out cold air. The shower door was mouldy and broken, and the water ran hot and cold. At first glance the decor decieves you into thinking it is a quality hotel, although the rest is what you would expect from a cheap hostel. When we complained about the room the staff were more than amiable and changed us to a suite right away. Which was much better, but still not without its faults. If I had been paying the prices stated at reception I would have demaned my money back and gone elsewhere. I must add that the restaurant ajoining the hotel was lovely and all staff were more than helpfull. Shame the hotel lets them down.

The room was not executive standard and was a little tired. You could not call the lift from the second floor but breakfast was very good

Very disappointing for the money. Room was clean and hotel is a good central location but the whole place is shabby and the decor mismatched. I found the bed very uncomfortable and the bathrooms are old (not dirty as such but mould in the grouting etc.) The girl on reception was unfriendly and unhelpful when asked to do a simple task (provide a receipt). I would not stay here again.

We booked a double room which was a bit pricey for what we got. The room was quite small and faced a night club opposite(couldn't afford a sea view. We had a dreadful night as the window did not fully close and we were kept awake till around 3am. In the morning the shower did not work properly and I decided to complain. The staff were brilliant, apologised for the inconvenience and upgraded us to a sea view room which was in a completely different league! The room was huge, the bed could have fit a whole family in it and the bathroom was much nicer. Overall I would totally recommend this hotel, although def try to get a sea view room. The breakfast was outstanding and we had a fab stay. Would def go there again!

The staff were friendly and helpful; however, they were not over bearing. This place was good value for money and although I got it at £103 for 3 nights it would have been worth more. When you think the travel lodge around the corner would have cost £30 more it is amazing to stay here for this price. Some might complain that the room was to the back go ahead, or that the room was smallish go ahead but for me the fact that it was clean, in a good location and i could come and go as i wanted was perfect. As a room only option it is great because the sea and the cafe's are literally across the road and there is even coffee republic in the hotel. If you want over the top pretention i suggest you pay for it and if you want the cosyness of B&B then go for that, otherwise this is a perfect place to stay and explore Brighton. The only things to remember are ear plugs as clubs near the side may get a bit noisy, and the swipe card for the room sometimes needs doing at reception but the staff are attentive. (it ran out twice on me during the stay of three nights). Towels are chnaged daily when you reqeust and the cleaner will even leave you to sleep in the afternoon if you put a sign on your door.

clean, neat and with friendly staff, located in the middle of everything, close enough for a two minute walk to the Lanes filled with great restaurants and bars... Much nicer than the charming Royal Albion. The Wi-Fi is free if a bit patchy at times.

Our stay at this hotel was only for one night but it was of a higher standard than i expected after some of the reviews i had read. We had no problems during our stay, the only criticism would be that on booking the room it said the room had freeview, however the only digital channels available are sky news and sky sport news, therefore we felt a bit misled! Other than that, we thought the breakfast price of £5.50 was a bit steep therefore steered clear and got breakfast in the Varsity Bar down the road for £2.99. Would recommend this hotel however, and will definately be returning.

Entrance and corridors a bit cramped. Bedroom adequate but might get uncomfortably hot in summer. Well placed for seafront and sightseeing.

Definitely not worth the amount advertised. The superior room I had was very average. The free wifi signal in the hotel was so weak, i couldn't connect and ended up using anohter free local service. Would not stay there again.
