There are many historical sites to visit in Providenciales,such as Richmond Hill Plantation and Cheshire Hall. During the winter months, visitors can take a tour of the world's only Conch Farm, located on Leeward Highway at the eastern end of the island. For those into dolphins and water activities, head over to Princess Alexandra Marine Park. This park is also the site where the famous bottlenose dolphin ‘JoJo’ can be found.Providenciales, although small, is simple to get to and offers visitors a tropical getaway that is within reach – not just in distance, but affordability too.
When To Go
Average temperatures in Providenciales range between the mid-80s to 90s Fahrenheit (20-32° C) during the months of June through October. From November to May, the winter and spring seasons are mild with average temperatures of 80° to 84°F (27°-29° C). The balmy water temperatures range between 84°F (29° C) and 78°F (26° C) year round. With easterly trade winds, the climate in the Turks and Caicos stays quite comfortable. The best time to go is from the middle of December to mid-April, when the precipitation is low. This is also when most North Americans are experiencing undesirable winter weather.

Getting There
By plane, daily flights arrive into the Providenciales Airport from destinations like Miami, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as from locations around the world. Upon arrival, there are various choices of ground transportation for visitors.
Although Providenciales cannot be reached by car, there are numerous rental cars, taxis, limousines, motorcycles and scooters available to help travellers get around the island.
By boat, visitors can choose from several marinas on the island of Providenciales to dock. Before arriving, call ahead to receive coordinates and review any special instructions that the marina may have. It is important to note that Providenciales is not a regular stop for cruise ships, therefore tourists will have a limited amount of time to visit when cruising the Turks and Caicos Islands.
