Tribeca Grand Hotel New York Guest Reviews

The staff is wonderfully attentive without being annoying. Great for a romantic weekend away.

Friendly very helpful staff. Room smaller than one might expect at this price. Limited restaurant, on weekends this basically a party club. Odd courtyard, like some mid-Western Marriot. Good room service. Got all I asked for quickly.

I've stayed at TG a number of times over the years, liked the location and never minded that they substituted hipness/coolness for many amenities and features that other hotels routinely provide. However, this past weekend the hotel held a REALLY LOUD party in the lobby---to which all rooms are in some way connected because they all have doors facing the atrium (the lobby-lounge is at the bottom of the Atrium). The rooms all have white noise machines (it's in the city, after all), but the music for this party was rumbling up through the very structural members of the building, and penetrating the door as if it were tissue paper. There was no warning about this party when the room was booked, and no warning on that day, and it went on until about 4 in the morning! The next day I had a lunch scheduled there. My filet came dry and well done when I had ordered med-rare. They brought another one---cold in the middle, and raw. This hotel is staffed by interns and its glory days are so over!

Where to start? I love hotels and if it isn't right, the rest of the trip no matter how great will be diminished. This hotel exceeded my expectations from the second we arrived. Desk staff was friendly, cheerful and seemed happy to see us. We were there at 12 but they got us a room right away so we could get settled then out to explore. The hotel itself is a stunner, modern but very warm, lobby/bar area suffused in golden lighting, amazing candelit wall like a modern grotto, spectacular, open atrium eight stories high, lots of room. Room itself was spacious for NYC and GREAT amenities, Malin and Goetz toiletries luxurious touch. Bed comfy, robe velvety, everything immaculate. There is even a white noise machine, which I didn't even need, and I am a light sleeper. Location was outstanding, Tribeca area loaded with shopping and great restaurants right outside your door, walk to Chelsea Market,WTC and the Village, but train stop across the street if you don't feel like walking. Price amazing for what you get. Highly highly recommended.

Close to metro. Updated interior. I would probably get a room in a higher floor, the second floor can be a little loud
