Travelodge Sydney Guest Reviews
Travelodge Sydney is not a resort. It offers good hotels services - clean rooms, excellent staff. But it has no gym, swimming pool or onsite recreation. What it does have is a excellent location for site seeing all of Sydney at an affordable price - something that is rare in Sydney. The hotel is one block south of Hyde park and has easy access to the Hop on/Hop off bus and the Sydney rail and bus system. We used all of these and found getting around town was a breeze. The rooms are clean and well maintained. They have sinks, refrigerators and safes - surprising at the price. The staff are very responsive and helpful. We used them for transportation questions, directions and advice on things to see. In every case they were knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to the vacationing traveler who is on a budget.

Okay so the location ain't that great but the price was what we wanted to pay so you can't have everything. Oxford Street on the other hand was very close by and that was one of the criteria that we were looking for so it was good for that. We booked two rooms which on first inspection gave great comfort and having a kitchenette in the room was a little added extra we found quite quirky, not being widely travelled y'know. The rooms were right next to each other but the hot water supply might have been miles apart for their similarity. It took three complaints to the management before one of us was offered a different room. Twice we were fobbed off by the hotel front of house staff with "Turn all the taps on even in the kitchenette area, the shower as well and flush the loo. That normally cures it." Of course this didn't work and the third time black gunky residue started to leak out of the sink taps - nice. Only then after I insisted that the manageress visit the room were we given the respect that we weren't just wineging poms. In discussions with the manager the water situation or lack of it is an ongoing problem that never seems to get addressed. So beware unless of course you're into cold showers then this is just up your street. You won't get a view of any description from your room either so don't expect it.
