Travelodge Phillip Street Hotel

Standard hotel, connected to the NSW Leagues club, but very well located if you are going to the art gallery or an event in the domain or the botanic gardens or Hyde Park. Strand Arcade is a short walk and Lindt is on the corner. Parking is at Secure Parking in Elizabeth street. You get a reduced price so ok for a day or 2 but expensive for a longer trip but it would be anywhere that close to the city. Prob is unless the Leagues Club is open you have to wheel your bags around the block to the hotel entrance and then up half a dozen stairs - no ramp. 24 hour reception I think (never seen it closed). PC data port.

parking very convoluted and amenities were not open. the one eatery that was open was not attractive meal wise. lift getting to the parking did not work and we had difficulty withthe lift inside also. no instruction was given to us during booking in procedure re use of card in lift. noises of garbage trucks outside room from very early hour was most disturbing. hotel staff helpful when television did not work. not up to our preferred standard I';m afraid,.

Extremely well located for research at the nearby Mitchell Library. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, room conveniently and well appointed and bed very comfortable. Some noise associated with a CBD location - early morning rubbish trucks etc.

Had a very enjoyable overnight stay. Having the NSW Leagues Club situated on the floors under the accommodation was convenient.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Travelodge Phillip Street. Very central location, adequate room. Air conditioning needs attention, room was quite stuffy.. Staff very attentive and courteous.

The location of this hotel is superb. Right in the CBD and within metres of Martin Place train station. The staff were VERY helpful and obliging. You can dine in the restaurant - and while it is "pub dining" rather than "fine dining" - you get a lot of value for your money. The room was very comfortable and tidy. It was clean but the age of it was showing and so in places gave the impression that it was "unclean." Even though it is in the CBD we were in a room which was nestled in the centre of the hotel - TOTAL quietness. No traffic noise at all. Overall - very happy with the place and I will return if I have the chance.

Even with a GPS getting to the hotel is difficult and then actually from the check-in back out into the traffic and round the block into the parking station isn't easy. From the carpark, well... we were in a strange building we couldn't get out of for some time. But finally back to reception. The rooms were great, good position for what we wanted BUT then the dreaded parking fees! Quoted $35 a night, given a voucher which didnt work and to leave had to pay an exorbitant $149 for 2 nights and one of those when we arrived at 10pm for the first night. Dont trust the quote or parking. Rip-off Rip-off!

The location of this hotel is perfect for that holiday, where you like to walk around town and do a spot of shopping or do the touristy thing. All transport is immediately at hand. The breakfast bar downstairs is very convenient and dinners are also good value. Nothing is a problem for the front desk staff, who are available around the clock. Apart from a rowdy group in a neighboring room on one night, our room was very quiet. The bathroom and bedding were very well maintained during our stay.

Clean and well appointed rooms with excellent security and good quality reception staff. Only detracting feature for elderly is the maim access to the hotel as one has to lug cases up a flight of steps. A ramp would provide the perfect answer to this problem.

This hotel is very well situated being right in the heart of the Sydney CBD. If leaving by shuttle to Sydney airport at peak hours allow 1.5 hours before your check in time. (even weekends certaily allow a good hour) Being both in our seventies the main access to the hotel was difficult as access was up a flight of stairs with no ramp to assist you. Although most cases have wheels it was difficult to lug them up. Front counter stall were excellent and very helpful. All rooms have good security with a built in safe.

Location, location, location. This hotel is all about location. Everything else is what you should expect of a hotel. Decent service, decent food... but location, given its proximity with all the major must-see spots of Sydney, is king. If not the hotel's location, I would not have been able to cover so much grounds in Sydney within my limited time there.

Position very good. Easy walking to Shops,Sydney Tower. Poor, confined bathroom with drizzly shower. Toilet on door jam.No shelving on hand basin area for toiletries ,toothbrush ,razor etc. Comfortable bed. TV reception was atrocious.Frozen picture. No free to air digital service (eg 7Mate or ABC24). Would only stay again if on a value deal & nothing else in CBD was available

This hotel suited us as we travelled from Newcastle by train and to get to the hotel was only a short two minute stroll from Martin place station. We had no trouble catching buses to everywhere we wanted to go especially the free loop of the city bus that covers all of the CBD.

This hotel offers a great central location and simple comforts. My bed was very hard, but the room was clean and well equipped. The bistro provided a basic breakfast and staff were very courteous and helpful. Would stay there again.

The hotel was okay but the pillows were so bad that we found it hard to get comfortable. The sheets were suppose to be changed every 2 days, that didnt happen only when I complained. Fridge too small and no toaster. Bathroom floor not washed for our entire stay 7 days.
