Travelodge Hotel Southbank Melbourne Guest Reviews (676)
Only stayed for a weekend but done the job. Nothing fancy, but visiting Melbourne for the tennis made it perfect. Clean simple rooms. Freindly helpful service and a decent cheap buffet breakfast. Would have been nice to have a pool or gym, but i suppose thats how they keep costs down. Would be happy to stay again as it is about half the price of some of the bigger hotel names that have similar rooms.

Perfect location to accessing Melb Park or the MCG either by tram or walking to the venues. The room size was great and clean.

It was clean and in a good location. I will stay there next time I go to Melbourne.

We stay at this hotel frequently and even though we have informed the staff, sometimes even before checking in, the fridge is always in desperate need of a defrost. They are only small fridges and if they are not kept defrosted they are hardly cold. This time I had to defrost the fridge myself as we were having visitors in for a drink and cheese before going out to dinner. I know that housekeeping would have done this if requested but in the past sometimes I have had to wait up to an hour for this to be done. Even so with the whole defrosting process and then the fridge resuming to its optimum coldness took at least an 1.5 hours. The hotel otherwise is quite satisfactory. I just cannot understand why the fridges are not turned off regularly when they service the room. That way it would take hardly any time to defrost.

Somewhere great to stay after dinner out and a night at the theatre, great breakfast in the morning. So close to everything you could need on a trip to the city.
