excellent location adjacent to Southern Cross and SkyBus connection. TV selection was great, but no digital radios was odd. Staff were helpful and efficient. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and great value if pre-booked on check-in (and cheaper than B&B prices!). Will be back on the next trip :-)

Granted that the street the hotel is on is not the most attractive in Melbourne, and walking back to the hotel late at night on the street is a bit uncomfortable since parts are not well lit and it seems deserted, and the views from rooms are not dynamic, but the venue is excellent. I was here to do some shopping in the CBD and DFO Southbank, visit the Crown Casino as well as catching trains to Werribee and Geelong , and the Australia Day fireworks, and the hotel was convenient for all. In addition, being 5 mins from Southern Cross station was a huge advantage for train travel , as well as the fast food venues on the Spencer street level. For me, the "likes" were the exceptionally friendly staff, especially Sisilya at the front desk, the proximity to trains, and fast food outlets and supermarkets, and to the South Bank precinct. The "dislikes" were walking back to the hotel at night, my room's bathroom bin not being cleared out from the previous guest, and having intermittent noise from a fan blade hitting the casing, from the air conditioning unit vent beside my door. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Not terribly easy to find at first (walking from Skybus) but once we found the joining walkway from the main walkway over Southern Cross station, it was very easy to go to and from anywhere. Very happy with just about everything. Nothing lacking with a comfy bed/pillow and a bit of extra room with a couch. I am being picky when I mention the leaky shower door (but that seems to be common everwhere) but the good qualty hairdryer made up for that. Only other hiccup was my swipe card didn't work on one occasion (of course when i was in a hurry).

Enjoy staying at this hotel as is central to restaurants, shops, sporting venues and public transport. Easy to get trams to the tennis centre and to the circus at Docklands and of course to travel by train to the suburbs or bus from and to the airport. Value for money, rooms are very sound proof, staff are very helpful and informative. Have stayed there before and will do so again.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. I ordered room service as Moroccon Lamb Pie at $12 seemed cheaper than going out..it was lovely. I managed to blow a fuse and the staff acted very very quickly. All staff were very personable, friendly and helpful. Great location - close to the harbour (long but pleasant walk) and also close to the city.

The location close to Southern Cross was the reason for selecting This Travelodge. Within easy walking distance from the train, it meant the car was left home, and enjoyed Docklands as a result.

Having checked out of another hotel, we arrived well before check-in time. Staff willingly took our luggage and stored it in security until we returned later on in the day. Staff were friendly. Room spacious. Docklands is a bit "out of the way" but if you know your way around Melbourne, its close to all amenities - jump on the free tram and you are at the shops in no time. Easy walking distance to Southern Cross Station.

We had a great deal for a superior king room. The location of the hotel was great, just 5 minutes walk to Ethihad Stadium or the new WTC wharf area and all it's restaurants and bars. The room didn't t have a great view but for the price we paid , we didn't care. Parking was $20 and very convenient. Room service options were limited but there are a number of restaurants with charge back facilities close by.

we were very happy with the price we got a good deal for the one night. tricky to find at first but actually in a great location for accessibility to transport, shopping, city, Casino and sporting complexes. Pretty quiet even though it is near the Southern Cross train station.
