Traders Hotel Hong Kong

Perfect for couple who does not want overly crowded area. There are eateries around the hotel, a few convenient stores to shop, a clinic nearby and 24hr McD beside it to curb your hunger. Bus stop and tram terminus are within walking distance. Hotel provides free shuttle to HK station, IFC, Macau Ferry Terminal and Pacific Place. Free wifi too. A little gem in Sheung Wan.

The hotel was fairly easy to get to from the airport and only a short taxi to the harbour for boats to Kowloon. The staff were fantastic, friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the room was really nice. We even received free cocktails and canapes in the lounge which was a great bonus!

Excellent and courteous service, great lounge on the 28th floor and overall a great experience and good value for money. The one thing is that its location is not yet reachable directly by an MTR subway station but is easily acessible by taxi and the regular shuttle bus that the hotel provides. Will definitely be going back for future trips.

Everything works out well for me since I just stayed in the hotel for the overnight layover in Hong Kong. I can easily find a local restaurant nearby the hotel for dinner. The hotel provides bus shuttle to HK international airport with a reasonable fare.

My stay in Traders Hotel Hong Kong was wonderful right from the moment I stepped into the lobby I was greeted with a warm welcome, my stay was faultless and the location, although many people say its too far away I liked it because it was a nice walk from Sheung Wan along busy streets of locals going about there business. There are plenty of eating options and supermarkets nearby. If you are too lazy just jump on a tram and it will take you 1 block from the hotel .Too easy.

Location is ... challenging. The MTR will get there someday, but for now, it's a little remote. Interesting neighborhood, though. The toilet in our room seemed not to flush. Housekeeping came right away and demonstrated a sort of pumping action one had to perform on the handle to build up the pressure required for a flush. Like this was normal or something. I thought she was joking. Sadly, no. The staff were excellent. Can't say enough about the people.

Nice newly refurbished rooms. Good location with many places to eat near hotel and not far from airport bus stop or short taxi ride to the HK Airport Express train station. Had some problems with the air conditioner control panel so it was stuck on full fan blowing cold air out all night and would not turn off.

We found the hotel very comfortable and the staff were very nice and helpful especially the bell staff. Although the hotel is situated on the Western side of the Island there is no problem in getting around as there is a shuttle bus to Central at hourly intervals and public transport is either outside the front door or within two minutes walk (Trams).

(1) Worth of a 4 star rating. Everything well thought out, facilities and room are very clean. Fast internet connection and good cable channels selections. (2) When I checked in, they said there is only a smoking room and ask me if I would upgrade(pay more) for a room with a harbour view. I declined and found the smoking room not bad at all. (3) Avoid using the expensive lundry service, instead buy some lundry power from supermarket nearby(only $12 HKD) and wash your lundry, use the airconditioner to dry it. I found this method very effective. (4) Also avoid consuming the beverages from the fridge, very expensive. Buy it from supermarket downstairs, super convenient. (5) Can use room phones to call any local number, free. (6) There is a pool and workout room at the top 28/F, use it.

Very impressive hotel - clean, modern, reasonably spacious (by HK standards) with posture-friendly beds. Location is slightly out of the way with no MTR station nearby but it it is well-serviced by an array of public buses, trams and mini buses. The hotel also provides a shuttle service around HK island. It may be inconvenient by HK standards but as a Sydney-sider, I was amazed by range of public transport options avail within 3 minutes. Note that HK is still tiny so u can still easily get around HK island or to Kowloon, mongkok etc within 20 mins... All in all, highly recommended and would stay again.

It is a decent hotel to stay if you don't mind being a little out of the center. It is in a local neighborhood which gives you a sense of how locals live. The room is spacious for Hong Kong standard. I was ungraded to a Jen room which has some green view. For what I paid for, it was well worth the money. Will stay there again.

The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos and we are very pleased with them. It is clean and neat. We love the window seat which offers a very interesting view of the street below. Because it is not too close to the MTR (underground), getting around is affected by traffic jams during rush hours. However, the close proximity to tram and bus stops and the availability of the hotel shuttle bus (one every hour) make it not too difficult to get to an MTR station. The staff was wonderful - friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the toilet paper is too rough. It is very good value for money.

Great hotel that I would recomend to anyone travelling to Hong Kong on a budget. Not central, however as taxi's are so cheap this was not a problem. Would stay there again, especially in their Jen rooms.
