Town and Country Resort San Diego Guest Reviews
Chose this hotel as it was "host" hotel for State Games of America athletes. Upon arrival we were told they were oversold and could not give us the 2 queen bed as reserved only could offer a king bed for the first night and then move us to a two bed room for remainder of stay. Four people crammed into king bed and roll away for one night! No refrigerator or microwave in room. Also were told in advance that microwave was available for public use only to find out microwave is no longer there. What one staff says is completely different from what another staff member answers. Felt misinformed. Overall grounds are beautiful and clean. Housekeeping is consistent and tower room was clean.

Visited family-Have stayed at this hotel before-Centrally Located and minutes from most San Diego attractions. Hotel is older but that's what makes it unique. Doesn't feel like your average modern generic hotel setting. The grounds are spectacular. Expect Check-In to be little long on Friday's but they make up by having multiple friendly front desk personnel on-duty. Not much different than Vegas Friday Check-In's. Remember, it is a big resort. Have patience, and you should have a good experience.

We travel to San Diego frequently and I have to say that, for the price, this was a perfect place to stay and relax. It is centrally located with easy access to the hotspots of San Diego. A large outdoor shopping mall is within walking distance, Old Town is about two miles away, and the beach is about 5 mins away. The staff were very helpful, taking us by van to Old Town SD and even picking us up at the end of day. These are not scheduled pick ups, just the kindness of the bell staff. One bell staff saw us walking towards the mall and picked us up in a cart and took us most of the way! When checking out, a large contingent of people were checking in, but again, the bell staff moved us to the front of the line to check out quickly and easily. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with flowers everywhere and gazebos, tables, and benches placed throughout the grounds. We ate at the cafe for breakfast and the breakfast was pretty good and plentiful. The sports bar was average but again, the wait staff was very friendly and efficient. The resort is older than most but very well decorated and clean.

Loved the grounds with all the flowers. Loved the close proximity to SD sites. Easy to get around and enjoyed the pool.

The resort was enhanced by lush landscaping, gazebos and gardens, lending a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere to the surroundings. The room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and both room service and housekeeping attentive and helpful. In town for Comic-Con, we found both the shuttle service and close proximity to the transit line indispensable. With Fashion Valley Mall and a number of other hotel properties within short walking or driving distance, options abound for dining and shopping. And several restaurants on the grounds offer a variety of good choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. We look forward to returning to San Diego again in the future, and we would definitely look to the Town and Country as a top choice for its combination of location, comfort and convenience.
