Excellent location, with easy access to the centre of the city. Considering the hotel was hosting multiple Christmas parties the staff went out of their way to cater for the residents. Although the hotel was built in the 70´s the refurbishment has brought the hotel into the 21st century, much like Birmingham city centre.

I have stayed at Thistle Birmingham City on several occasions and normally it is an enjoyable experience. I arrived at hotel yesterday and at 6pm and by 9pm I was back in my room as I was feeling unwell. The room opposite had very loud music blaring out into the corridor this continued for about an hour. Then throughout the whole night until 4.30 am I was kept awake by the door of the room opposite being slammed shut very loudly and also a lot of shouting was going on in the corridor for same period of time. Today I left at 8.30am and I am so exhausted as I did not get any sleep last night. AS the rooms do not have a telephone I could not call reception to complain and as I was feeling very weak I did not want to walk to reception. I have to say that I will not stay at hotel again and I will not recommend the hotel to my work colleagues and friends after this appalling experience. Before I left this morning I did mention my dissatisfaction to reception as I checked out.

Stayed in a wheelchair accessible suite. It was a very good size and had about the best wheelchair accessible washroom I have every seen. The hotel is within a few blocks of good shopping and pubs. The restaurant was up a set of stairs on which the staff placed aluminium ramps. These worked, but I wouldn't want to take a power chair on them and it may be best to have someone with you as the ramps were quite long and the slope a bit steep.
