if you like a quiet place with great views, a fantastic deal in the royal beach club, a very helpful staff and a fine room, this is the place. if you are bothered by ticky-tacky stuff such as a lamp that does not work, a balcony chair that is broken, a tv that has poor sound quality, etc., this is not the place. maintenance is not a word that means much here. its staff spends too much time at the other westin property, the lagunamar which is a time share hot spot. we will return because i can deal with a broken balcony chair.

The hotel doesn't seem to have a manager, or trained staff. They are very confused with any request. For 3/7 nights, we had no housekeeping services!!! When they came, they forgot to bring towels, or shampoo, or soap! The pool towels were a treasure to be hunted! The pools were good, the ocean is beautiful, but for the same price, there's got to be sth better nearby! Average kitchen service by the beach was 45 minutes!Oh well!

If you need anything at this hotel, forget about it!!! The housekeeping is terrible. They forget to bring you towels, bath mats, or completely forget to make your room as it happened to us 3 times!!!! No minibar amenities until you beg them to bring some. Very few employees around. Even beach towels are a hassle to get! As for the manager? He's on vacation, I bet! Not at work! If this were a ship, it would sink soon. 3rd floor rooms are so old!!! The wall paper is coming out, mold is everywhere! Think twice before you book this one!

Nothing at walk-able distance, but there is bus every 5 minutes.

We were here for the first half of the Christmas break, and were quite satisfied with our stay. This Westin is located at the southern (quiet) end of the hotel zone, close to the airport (but still subject to the riiculous ripoff cab fare of $64 to the hotel zone). The hotel has several nice pools, both on the beach side and the lagoon...many people start on the beach side and follow the sun to the lagoon. What is nice is that the beach flows seamlessly into the pool area, whereas at some hotels there is a cliff. Staff is very friendly. Restaurants are a bit pricey and there are few other choices in the area. The buses to the other parts of hotel strip run frequently and are very inexpensve. Not much else in the way of entertainment, so you come here mainly for sun worship.
