Construction, was way too loud! Looked forward to sleeping in all week, was not able to! Because we booked over O-rbitz we couldn't get a refund/discount... not cool

I am writing in regards to my recent stay at the Westin in Buckhead from 11/4/11 to 11/6/11. On my final statement was asked, "Was your stay quietly energizing?" I have stayed at numerous Westin hotels over the years and have been very pleased at how much value I have found in the Westin brand and the committment to an enjoyable and comfortable hotel experience. My recent stay was easily the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I was traveling with my wife and two small children (ages 2 and 5) for the baptism of the daughter of a good friend. Our arrival was late but we were welcomed by an extremely pleasant bellman who helpd us to our room. Beyond that initial encounter, however, our stay was a complete disaster. We awoke the next morning without any water service available whatsoever. Supposedly a pipe had burst and Whenever you pay for a hotel room, the most basic of services include a private room with a lock, a bed, and a working bathroom. When one of those essentials is not provided, I would expect at least some remuneration for services not provided. The options provided by the front desk were to be shuttled to another hotel where we would (possibly) be given a room where we would have access to a bathroom. That is not an option for a family with two small children and so we trudged on to a local restaurant for food and bathroom services. When we returned to our room later that afternoon ( I think it was around two 'clock), the water still had not been restored and so we waited a little longer before finally being able to use the bathroom. I realize that this problem was to some degree out of the control of the hotel management but I would at the least have expected some sort of payment or even credit for that night since a basic service was not met. Instead, I received a note from Andy Zirger stating that he is committed to providing me with the "Perfect Stay". In the early morning hours of 11/6 (it was around 3:30 am, I think), some prankster decided to pull the fire alarm and wake the entire hotel. There was an announcement that it was a false alarm and that we should "resume our activities". For some reason the alarm kept going off and this announcement continued to be made - three more times. Again - I have 2 small children who are completely freaked out by this point because a male voice (with a Middle Eastern accent I would add) continues to shout at us and tell us to "resume our activities". I finally had enough and went down to the front desk but there was no hope of me ever getting back to sleep by that point. I know - the fact that an inconsiderate jerk pulled a fire alarm is not within the control of the hotel staff - I just felt that the response to it and the inability to stop the alarm (and the announcement) was poorly handled. I hope that I have answered the above question that was posed to me. My stay was neither quiet nor energizing and I regret having paid money for that experience. I am disappointed that I can no longer view the Westin brand as a solid bet on a good night's stay at a hotel.

Good service. Too bad our first room smelled terribly of mildew. They were very accommodating and switched our room in less than 30 minutes. The next room was worse and we were tired of complaining. The phone didn't work in the 2nd room.

The breakfast menu was a bit pricey, both in the restaurant and as room service, but the food was good as was the service.

I think this is now called the Westin Hotel. Also I was too drunk to make the most use of the place but from the little I saw I can say it was very good!
