Stayed at the The Venetian in Jan 2013. Massive hotel, and a tad gaudy, but rooms were big and the shopping great, so well worth it. Across the road from the City of Dreams complex and other hotel/casinos, so great location. We booked with a package that gave us free meal vouchers, a welcome drink, exhibition entry and shopping coupons, which made our stay both interesting and good value. The shopping mall, with its painted ceiling and gondola rides was quite a sight, but the shopping was very good, handy if you aren't into gambling.

I have been to Venetian for a few times but this is the first time that I chose to stay in this hotel as the hotel is not cheap but it is definitely value for money for its room size and with 2 queen size beds which 5 of us can actually stay in it. Shoppings, restaurants and casino are within the hotel. Very Convenient but the service of the Casino staff is very below expectation. It is definitely a good hotel to stay in if you are looking for comfortable size. I would consider to stay there again if I revisit Macau again.

Our room at the Venetian (Bella Suite) was luxurious, plush and comfortable. However, I believe that for the price, it should at least include free Wi-Fi in the room, or at least have a Business Center / lobby with free Wi-Fi / internet access.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice Friday evening and Saturday stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite and offered a 2pm check-out without our having to ask. With the extensive facilities, shops and entertainment offered, this is a great place to stay in Macau.

This is a huge complex with every conceivable thing a person on holiday would look out for - food, entertainment, rest, a break from work etc. The staff, particularly the front office personnel are courteous, efficient and proactive. They seemed to anticipate what you need, such as taking over your luggage for storage while waiting for your room to be processed, sending the luggage to your room 15 minutes upon you stepping into the room and loading your luggage into the shuttle bus during the trip back to the airport. I am impressed. And they don't hang around waiting to be tipped. Once I was not prepared and while looking for some monies to tip them, they have already moved off to serve another group of travellers. The sprawling complex can be quite confusing and one can get lost there literally. My main peeved is that considering this is a 5 star hotel with guests from all over the world, many of their staff can't speak anything beyond Cantonese. Personally, I can't speak Cantonese, though a smattering of Mandarin I can still manage. Sadly, many of the staff can't understand much Mandarin either, not to mention English. The room is gorgeous and beautiful, but hey, you pay top dollars for them. They don't come cheap.

I stay in a family suite with my family in May 2012, this is a nice and class hotel but overcrowded in the lobby , walkways and around the free shuttle bus areas. My 2 girls said they prefer Galaxy Hotel as we were there for 3 nites and the hotel gave us a free upgrade to a suite, they love the wave pool. Personally i find that Galaxy has more choice of free and efficient shuttle buses to lots of places and is less congested. The Casino in Venetian is packed with mainland Chinese and on our way to the casino one nite inside the lift we met a Chinese couple who begged us for some money to buy dinner wow they were broke !

We were initially disappointed that when we thought we were getting a room with breakfast and discount rewards the booking had gone through as 'room only'. Booking direct with the Venetian would have ensured we got the package. It is a huge hotel with own buses and transport hub, like central station with many tourist groups visiting from China. Can't complain as the transport is free both to the ferry and across to other hotels. Once past this, the hotel decor is spectacular. Our 'suite' was excellent value by Australian standards. The bathroom was a suite on it's own! Beautiful. We ate at one restaurant which was nice but pricey. We ate in the food court and made a terrible choice. (That can happen anywhere but it lets the venue down). Not being gamblers, the casino although interesting was very smoky and you could smell the smoke on clothes back in room after just walking through. We did have a nice yum cha in one of the floor eateries, and enjoyed a display of ballroom dance. It was worth the visit but I would not stay there again as the personal touch was lacking due to it's size. The hotel aspect feels like you have an apartment in a shopping centre. Probably great if shopping is what you do. We went across to the City if Dreams to see 'House of Dancing Water' a must do, the best show I have seen and also the Dragons Treasure. Fabulous. Also visited the Galaxy hotel with a water show not to be missed at the fountain in the foyer. We had one night at the Sofitel (our fav.) two nights at the Venetian and then one night at Pousade de Cologne so we were able to explore each area near to the hotels, covering the different aspects of Macau with ease. Not far by taxi you can go to the Panda park - we ran out of time.
