Nice hotel in Taipei. Everybody speaks english. However only breakfast is possible in the hotel. On the good side, for little money an early check-in can be done. This is quite handy after a long flight.

Cheerful hotel receptionists who spoke English as well as Japanese. I stayed in an Executive King room. Room is big for the price I paid. Room facilities are good with a big designer-styled bathroom. Seperate shower and bathtub with jacuzzi function. No view from the room as it is facing another apartment. Kept the curtains drawn and it is like a 5-stars hotel. The only problem is the the electricity kept tripping whenever I plugged in both the water boiler and heater. For the price, it is definitely value for money =)

The room is great! with large LCD TV, DVD player, Hifi sound system, free mineral water, soft drinks and snacks. They even got jacuzzi in the bathroom! End of the stay the hotel gave me a free small bag as welcome gift. Nice! Hotel receptions are nice & friendly too. The Wifi network is bad on the ground floor unless you go down to the lower-ground to have maximum signals. Breakfast selections are limited. Also, the receptionist always greet me in Japanese. Maybe they serve mostly Japanese customers????

Difficult to communicate with hotel staff in English. Hotel should try to provide more information of interest to tourists such as Subway Maps, Tourists promotional rates etc. For example there is a one day unlimited travel plan available on the subway. But the hotel dis not seem to have any clue about this

I have been to many hotels in Taipei, most 4 star and I would most highly recommend the K Hotel 3. The staff are the most courteous, they provided me with an early check-in after 20 journey to Taipei with a warm smile. The rooms are a comfortable size, very clean and the breakfast buffet is excellent - caters to the Japanese pallet - as does the hotel itself. But an excellent hotel, great value! I will be back.

Central; which is ideal if you use the MTR - Taipei Central MTR is only 10 minutes walk away. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We were a couple with a 2 year-old child. The staff did their best to accomodate the peculiarities this presented.

Direction to the hotel could be slightly better. Had some problem finding it initially. The room is pretty run down. Can find water spots on the ceiling. But the room and bed sheets are clean. Slightly over value for the facilities (or the lack of it).

Ideal location for the bored Japanese business man looking for some afterhours Karaoke. Also ideal for those who will not be in the room very long. The rooms are clean, spacious, and there are so many movie channels to watch. This is good value if you only want a secure room and a clean location. The staff were very friendly but you have to speak Chinese or Japanese to get the inside scoop from them.

Merlin Court has in fact changed management and now called K hotel instead. It is indeed a value for money hotel if you are not looking for anything fancy. Very convenient to go to any major shopping location and the room are hugh and comfortable. Staff are efficient, and friendly and can speak English.

We ended up staying a whole week in this hotel. It is very centrally located, near shops, restaurants and stores, is well priced, and the service is impecable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a very good location for shopping, sightseeing, etc. However, taxi drivers have constant problem to find the place as there are three different K hotels in Taipei. Hotel''s business cards are useless for finding directions. Taxi from the CKS Airport will cost around 1500 NT$, and return trip around 1000 NT$. There is a restaurant where breakfast is being served daily. After 10:30 in the morning it is closed for the rest of the day. Comparatively it is a very good value for money in Taipei''s standards.

I find that its a pretty sleazy-looking hotel. I felt really insecure as the door lock seems kind of fragile...

Will NEVER EVER go back there again!! The suite that I booked was even worse than a decent standard room that I can get elsewhere. Moved out immediately on the second day...

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. My room was small, but adequate size for one person. The rooms must be of different sizes since others have commented on how spacious their room was. Bottled water was placed in my room every day. I found the free daily breakfast very convenient and satisfying. I used the hotel pick up service to and from the airport. This was very convenient, but costs 1500 NT dollars.

The hotel room is definitely worth the money I paid for it, and the daily breakfast is really great. The only drawback is the "hidden" hotel location that is hard for a first-time guest to find.

Room was spacious and clean and very quiet at night. Up against the wall of a seemingly abandoned building there was no view whatsoever. TV had 100 cable channels with four movie channels. Almost all viewing was in Chinese otherwise. ADSL in the room was very good; bring your own cable and connector though. Staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Like other comments on this place it is initially difficult to find and is confused with the other K hotels. But the location is very convenient and central and being on a back street contributes to the quiet.

When coming from the airport, take the Airbus for NT$100 and get off at the Formosa Hotel stop. Get directions and then you can walk from there. Or a taxi ride will only be the minimum fare.

It is at best a 2* property in poor condition. Stains every where, mildew on the wall in the room. Very difficult to find, forget about taking Airbus from the airport if you have lots of luggage. I had a non-smoking room, but smoke was coming into my room from either next door or below. Checkout after one night, the door keeper (of whoever he is ) was quite mad at me for checking out early. However, I agree with comments made by others that the behind counter staff is very polite and helpful.
