The St. Regis Venice San Clemente Palace
5 out of 5

Probably the most tranquil location for a hotel in Venice. Situated on it's own island accessible by means of the hotel's private shuttle, from a reserved mooring at San Marco. Beautiful landscaped grounds with the added joy of the long eared rabbits grazing on the expansive lawns. All public areas, as one would expect of a 'palace', are very elegant but on a scale unlike no other Venice hotel. A real five star deluxe hotel and incredible value.

This is indeed a palace sitting on its own island 15 mins from venice on their free shuttle launch. It is 5 star luxury service was excellent .A joy to go into venice in the morning and return in the afternoon and relax at the pool. The best of both worlds. As you would expect the food and drink prices were in line with the surroundings.20 euros for a pizza at pool bar,9 euros for a bottle of beer,7 euros for a coke.THe hotel is worth it especiaaly the views across the water to venice from outside the american bar.Only critiscism was that we had a meal in the restaurant next door it cost 250 euros and sadly the food was not very good would definately advise not to have an evening meal there are many places in venice

Great place to stay in Venice if you like it quiet and only 12 minutes from th hustle of St Marks Square. Also has great gardens to wander around. Will stay there again on return to Venice.

Fantastic hotel. Only hotel close to Venice with grounds, large swimming pool, tennis courts and boat every 20 minutes to St Marks square. Pricey but worth the premium for luxury.

Lovely location on an island, away from the crowdy venetian streets. Bit difficult to find the boat departure, it is between de gondolas and the gardens. Once on the boat you feel the stress of the mass-populated city wash away. The island is a haven of rest - so is your room. Nice amenities including hair conditioner. With rain you are provided with an umbrella.

I was in a party of six that stayed here from the 14th of March to the 17th and found our stay to be excellent. The setting of the hotel on its own island in the Venice lagoon was spectacular. The hotel and staff were top class. Travelling to and from the hotel by private motor-boat added greatly to the whole experience of visiting Venice. All six of us enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the San Clemente Palace Hotel in Venice only for one night. The hotel itself was truely amazing. It was set in beautiful surroundings. In fact it looked like the San Clemente Island was only accomodated by the hotel, so it felt like an exclusive hotel. The staff were utterly professional and we were also upgraded to a Deluxe room upon arrival. We stayed there in January 2008, so the weather was not good. It was wet, windy and cold and as the only way to access the Island (where the hotel is located) is through a 10 minute journey on the canal (via a private shuttel the hotel provide for free) which are scheduled on average every 30 minutes. Due to the weather we ended up having both lunch and dinner at the hotel which in total cost us about 230 Euros. Next time I go to Venise I would probably want to stay in San Marco so that you do not have to think about the travelling back to the hotel at the end of the night.

Beautiful location on an island away from the noise and bustle of San Marco, yet only a 10 minute boat ride. Nice rooms and excellent breakfast. Helpful staff at all times.

Very calm and relaxing and staff very helpful. Once you have remembered the timetable of the shuttle service every twenty minutes, it is very easy to pop in and out to Venice, but is at the same time removed from the maddening crowd.

This hotel has beautiful grounds and the rooms were clean and luxurious. But we were disappointed with the service. We received no help with our bags to the boat or hotel even though we were transported by hotel staff. The desk staff are very unhelpful. We forgot our toothbrushes and were told there were no toothbrushes on the island and we'd have to wait until the boat left the next morning and then go out and purchase them ourselves. The breakfast buffet is fabulous and the wait staff at the restaurants are kind and responsive. But the prices are extremely high -- we paid 63 euros for 4 glasses of sprite and 2 beers. Finally, the Conceige recommended a tour of a glass factory that turned out to be simply a high pressure sales job. One wonders if the Conceige is paid a commission when this routine is succesful. If we return to Venice, we will stay at a different hotel -- and that would be our decision even if price were not a factor.

Loved every minute... an excellent hotel with extremely good service. The location was peaceful and removed from Piazza San Marco and yet easily accessible by hotel shuttle boat which ran every twenty minutes throughout the day and was available around the clock. Perfect breakfasts in beautiful surroundings were a wonderful way to start the day. The hotel was priced very fairly and was in line with what you would expect to pay for a luxury hotel. I recommend it highly and would definitely return!
