Dissapointed by cleanliness of room on arrival, not hoovered or dusted. Only had Table d'hote menu available in restaurant though Guest Information stated A La Carte as well. Requested a steak which arrived luke warm, then on leaving the Restaurant we were informed there would be a £5 supplement added to the bill for the privilage.

The food for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The whole hotel was fab, the only disadvantage being the decor in the room seemed a little tired.

Excellent hotel, situated centrally for all York attractions and conveniently close to the station. Staff charming, rooms spacious, would recommend a stay!

Hotel very hot. Food attractive but luke warm. Customer service lukewarm - some staff disinterested and unhelpful.

Whilst I knew to ask for a room away from the lifts - learned trick; at this hotel it is also wise to ask for a room on the side away from the station. I was awaken at 5am each morning with the noise. I also pity those who wanted to sleep in as the staff making up rooms were extremely noisy. There are no buffers on the doors also so if noise is a consideration for you, this hotel would not get an A rating on it. Doors were slamming from very early hours. Otherwise good location and meals were very good, staff were extremely friendly.

The bar prices are excessive, and we were put in the garden wing which was a bit of a hike from the main hotel. Service for breakfast was sometimes slow.

Food was a great disappointment, the chef could not even produce Welsh Rarebit, complaint made to hotel at time. Food was over priced and portions not adequate, could not even produce an attractive cheeseboard, the only meal after the first night we ate was breakfast and that was mediocre.there were very few diners in the restaurant at night , every picture tells a tale!! To charge for car parking is extortionate, adding £10 per day to the bill. This hotel never used to charge for this facility. We will certainly never make a return visit and will not recommend this hotel either.

I thought that the facilities were more than adequate for our overnight stay. The Hotel was within 5 minutes walking distance from the Town Centre, the Staff were very friendly and leisure facilities were most enjoyable.

An excellent hotel, right next to the railway station but with no railway noise! Delightful double staircase forms the centre hall of this tastefully modernised hotel.

Excellent hotel, next to the main line train station. Warm welcome from the staff who always made a point of saying 'Hello', 'Good Morning'. High standard of accomodation within walking distance of central York. Would definately book this hotel again.

We were very impresed by the service at this hotel. The housekeepers were observant and noticed that we had turned the heating off. They made the correct deduction that we didn`t like a stuffy room and opened the window. Also they saw my partner`s birthday card and left one from the staff with a box of chocolates.

The front desk was very helpful and accommodating in making some last minute changes. Absolutely next to York's Main Railway station - even has a private entrance from the station main concourse. Traffic outside is slightly noisy - though not too bad.
