The beds are super noisy, and not too comfortable. Walls are super thin so we kept waking up every time someone was on the hallway. The breakfast is just cereal coffee, tea, toasts and a few pastries. And they make you pay a "resort fee" to include this. Location is great. Room is modern looking. Bathroom is pretty small.

Our stay was pleasant. Rooms were unique in design. Close to everything. Only complaint is the thin walls.

The hotel walls are quite thin, and you can hear your nightly neighbours. The beds were not that comfortable, but the hotel is in a great location - right next to the art deco district, 2 blocks from the beach, 5 mins from Lincoln road, and 1 block from the awesome 24hr diner - jerrys!

This was my 2nd visit to Miami and I was pretty disappointed with my choice of hotel this time around. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, however the hotel itself was lacking. The photos give the impression that the rooms are much nicer than what they truly are; the rooms are very small, the beds are uncomfortable, and the bathroom is extremely tiny. We constantly had to call for more towels (how hard is it to replace the same number of towels each day?!). That being said, the location of the hotel is excellent; a 2 min walk to the beach and just a little further to tons of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

First of all, this is a great location. It's a street over from Ocean Drive and the beach. Most importantly I'd like to tell you all about Zesto pizza that's right across the street to the right if you were walking out of the hotel. It has great food but most of all cheap prices. There's a sandwich shop on the corner (Jerry's deli I think?) That has $16.00-$20.00 sandwiches! Or $10.00 for a half of a sandwich..... <--Ridiculous. But anyway, definitely check that out. The room is kinda cool. It looks just like the pictures, it is small, including the shower (which also leaked onto the floor because the glass door wouldn't close all the way) but my worst complaint would be the beds! They shift and squeak with any movement at all! The beds are horrible. Maybe it was just my room but if you have a bad back or get annoyed but constant squeaking and shifting, this is not the right hotel for you. But other than that, it's a really cool hotel, centrally located and the staff are very nice. They give you 2 drink coupons for the bar downstairs each day and two continental breakfast coupons each day as well. The breakfast could be better but it's alright, I had an apple strudel and toast with O.J.. There's a $15/night resort fee and they hold 50/night deposit that will be released 10-17 days later..... Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5. If the beds were replaced I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

HOTEL WAS ADORABLE AND CLEAN, however a additional resort fee should be optional, i did not need towels, did not recieve free drink cards, and did not use free breakfast so i paid $15 for nothing, the valet price was ridiculous 30? really? then at checking in the worse part...is that they charge your card twice and put the amount of room stay twice on your card in case of damages, without any notice until you check in. the staff member said it will be put back when you check out. yet when checking out your informed it will take 5 days. ridiculous. how about if there are any damages then you charge my card? thank you for freezing funds and not stating until after i booked and holding them for a week. next time i will find a hotel that is upfront with there booking and fees

Timely, efficient, and a pleasing check in. You can definitely tell it is an older hotel and the bathrooms are a bit small. But it is a great deal and in prime location on Collins Avenue! They also have a limited, complimentary happy hour and continental breakfast which was nice.

There is an extra fee that you pay for at the hotel. I don't think it was worth it. They give you breakfast (which is a joke) and a free drink (which you have to claim between certain hours of the day.) The pool was more of a big hottub, not bad. The location was close to everything. The one really bad thing was that there is no sound barrier between rooms, doors, hallways-you hear everything! Unfortunately, there were a group of teens who were being very loud at all hours of the night, banging on walls and screaming. Not the hotel's fault, but if they soundproofed a little better, we wouldn't have be able to hear it. Overall, despite the hidden fees, it was worth the original price quoted.

The hotel staff were very helpful and nice. The resort fee is $15 plus tax not $12 as listed. The valet service takes a while but is a better option since parking is so limited. I would have given them a higher rating but the bed was horrible. I tossed all night. Seriously time for an upgrade. The mattresses are so worn. The linens could use an upgrade as well. I had to ask for more towels since the one's in my room had holes in them. However the new one's they brought were not much better. Simply poor quality. The bedding was clean but some permanent stains are obvious. All in all I would stay here again because it was a great location. Close to everything. I really enjoyed myself.

Very centrally located on one of Miami's busiest streets, it is only a short walk away from the beach. The rooms are very modern and our room was very quiet, away from the main street. All-in-all a very pleasant stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, and all the places we wanted to go to (food, drinks, groceries, clubbing) was within walking distance.

Too much noise from other rooms next door. Good location. Maybe 1/1.5 star hotel, not more. The service itself was very good.

The worst reception staff I have ever encountered, and this was accross the board not an isolated inccident. We waited almost an hour just to check in. Both reception staff cut me off mid conversation to answer the phone, plus they took a large deposit for one night stay which took over a week to get credited back to my bank account. I was not impressed and wouldn't go back

Good hotel in most respects except for the walls being paper thin. You can hear every word your neighbours say which makes sleep difficult if you get a noisy one. We stayed in 2 rooms - the one facing the street also had paper thin windows so sounds like you're sleeping on the street, ask for a room facing away from the road. Good price and location otherwise.

This hotel had an excellent location, but it is noisy (from the street and from adjoining rooms as well). The walls are thin, so bring your earplugs! The beds are comfortable, but they are of cheap quality. Hopefully, the hotel will buy new ones each year! The pillows were not all that comfortable but were suitable. The bathroom had a very nice tile shower (no tub). The floors were nicely tiled. The mirrors and art on the walls made the room seem larger and comfortable. I would stay here again if the price was right. You certainly can't ask for a better location!

The President is in a great location, 5 minute walk to the Lincoln Rd shops, 2 minute walk to the beach. Facilities were generally good. Only thing was the walls were paper thin - you can hear EVERYTHING from the rooms next door. Would definitely stay again though for the right price.

Excellent location, but parking is a problem, specially when the hotel doesn't specify that the parking is NOT included in the rate ($25.00 per night for the car). Very nice decoration, clean and for european standards, bathroom ok, but for american standards, bathroom a little small. I could stay here on my next visit to Miami, but I will search some other optiions before book here.

The President Hotel is a very nice hotel located directly on the beautiful South Beach in Miami. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are really beautiful and lovely renovated. Unless you're not travelling in the main tourist time (the roomwalls are very thin and you can hear every word from your neigbours, luckily we only have them on 2 days) this is the place to be in South Beach!

My friend and I stayed at The President Labor Day weekend '09 and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel looks slightly shabby on the outside and the main hall is nothing special but our room- 115- was nice! Great mural on the wall, spacious room. Nice queen-size bed. Small bathroom but that was fine. The only issue was noise- you can hear music/loud talking from the adjoining room and in the hallway. Also, since the room is right next to the stairs we were awoken by drunk, loud people. If noise doesn't bother you I would say this is great place to stay to party in South Beach. Excellent location. The check-in process was fine and they let you store your bags.
