Employees are not as cordial as I had expected. I contacted concierge to get info on local restaurants, and he was not at his desk, and never called back. I had the best massage ever, I contacted Bob Allen a well known massage therapist, and he is extraordinary. Beach access could have been easier. The hotel charges extra for your beach chairs, which is given in other hotels.

For the price, this hotel experience should be perfect. It was far from perfect, but a nice weekend. We found the front desk under-staffed. Although our room was promised to be ready at arrival, it wasn't. The front desk said they would call when it was and failed to do so. Only when we returned from a walk and asked them did we get our room. The poolside dining is absurdly priced. Lunch for two was $160. Avoid it. The room was large, clean and the house keeping staff was great with special requests. Although we liked it, there are better options on Miami Beach.

I LOVE Miami! I visit several times a year and each time I try to stay at a different hotel - although I have my favorites (The National). I will NOT stay at this hotel again. The front desk service was slow at check in, during our stay (when we asked a simple question) and at checkout. We were not told that we needed to carry ID every where we go in the hotel even though we were provided with a hotel "charge card" so we had to run back to our room a few times. I found it very strange that hotel employees do not greet guests in the hallways. The hotel welcome book boasts about the "Plunge Rooftop Pool" being open to guests 18 and older however they will not allow anyone younger than 21. The hotel was not helpful in accomodating a gluten, peanut, dairy allergy. The hotel room had one garbage basket - in the bathroom. The bathroom "door" was a curtain. The shower had no curtain (fine if the bath tub was modern and large enough that the shower water didn't splash all over the place). The walls were paper thin and we could hear EVERY word of our next door neighbors. Paying $38 per night for parking is offensive however waiting by my car while the valets ogle at women walking down the street and into the hotel was annoying and unprofessional. The 3rd floor pool area was nice however once the wind started blowing we were told the umbrellas needed to be closed so they wouldn't blow away. At the pool Jessica and Santiago were very nice. Juan at the rooftop lounge was also very helpful. Overall, for the $300+ (discounted rate) per night I was not impressed by anything about this hotel.

Well, we looked forward to this for months. We had a room on the 6th floor on the street side and noisy. The few was terrible. Old crack house looked like. A fire alarm went off at 2:00 A.M. and we all had to evacuate down the stairs not knowing what was going on in the poring rain. Noisy crowd two doors down in their 20's doors slamming for hours back and forth. The others amenities expensive for what you get. Why pay 13.00 for a drink when Florida has the cheapest liquor?? We were disappointed in this trip we planned and saved for months. Pool is awesome!

I’ve been to Miami and stayed in several hotels. Never will I stay at the Gansevoort Miami again. My expectations were parallel with Gansevoort NYC, and there was little similarity. On a positive note, the beach and lower pool staff were great and very helpful. However, the staff in the hotel and on the rooftop were very challenging and not accommodating. We had a hard time getting our room cleaned, clean towels, ice, cups etc. It would take up to 30 minutes for a response. We met several other guests who had similar experience with the staff. One woman was ranting at the front desk, pleading for a mirror because there wasn’t one in her room. They ended up moving her to another room, but that was after several “Sorry Ma’am, we don’t have any other rooms.” I think a mirror is a fair ask in a 5-star hotel. Good luck getting a garbage can in your room too. My family had our bags searched on the rooftop, at which point we decided to leave and return to the beach. We felt insulted and intimidated for nothing. At a so called 5- star hotel, we’ve had better service at a roadside motel. The card keys were not dependable. At one point, we were stuck on the beach after midnight because the beachside gates would not open with our cards. When we complained to the concierge about not being able to enter our own hotel, her suggestion was to not put the card in our wallets, as it “de-actives” the card. My response was: “Where would you like me to put it? Staple it to my face?” Stay here if you are a celebrity, a Real Housewife or rock star. Everyone else, they don’t want you here.

The amenities are wonderful. The Roof top pool for 21 and over was beautiful, the service there was excellent. The other pools were good as a back up and more family friendly. The beach was right there and again, the service was great. The bell boys are wonderful and helpful. HOWEVER!! The people at the desk, where not always helpful. Our keys were not working properly for the first 2 days. The room was nothing like the picture and it was in obvious need of work. It was clean, just not up to standard with the rest of the hotel. WARNING!! On Saturdays, they apparently have a pool party that is open to the public on the roof top pool area. We were leaving on Sunday and were hoping to get some relaxing pool time in before going out. This was not possible, because it was so crowded and the lines were ridiculous. They were not able to accommodate the hotel paying guest needs due to the limited lounge chairs. We decided to go down to the other pool which is NOT open to the public, but within a hour or two we were surrounded by a huge group of drunken, loud and rude of people that apparently migrated from the roof top pool. They had to be escorted out by police and security of the hotel. In the end, we were not able to enjoy the facilities that day and the hotel did nothing for us, when we complained about it. Up to Saturday, I would have overlooked the minor things, but I felt like in the end, I paid more than it was worth for what little I got.

The resort is amazing, best of all the pool parties are a must. If you plan on staying at the resort, take the time to visit the rooftop. It has an amazing view of the beach, especially on saturdays around 1pm. The ocean view from the room's balcony is another attraction of the resort. One thing the resort can do to accomodate their guest would've been an "all inclusive" package. This would definitely help save some money. Other than that the resort is awesome.

I was hoping for a stellar experience at the Gansevoort and left feeling very disappointed. First, the pros: -Room was very spacious -Hotel lobby is very chic and glam, especially the awesome fish tank Now, the cons: -No towels were available by the beach on each of the days we stayed there. It's 4th of July weekend so I would expect the hotel to be prepared for crowds, but they failed to meet the guests' needs. -Also, Each chair rental is $10 and another $15 for an umbrella. If you are staying for more than a few days, it's probably easier to go to the Walgreens across the street and get a few to use instead of getting squeezed each day. -The other disappointing part of the trip was that our bathroom shower was in need of some TLC. The knob to turn the shower on was completely broken and when I went to turn it on, it ended up in the palm of my hand and not connected to the faucet. Plus, there was some calcium buildup on the shower head that definitely needed to be cleaned off. Overall, a 4 star hotel that needs work on the details.

Great place for young people to stay. Has three different pools along with direct access to the beach. The facility is very clean and the staff are incredibly helpful. Only issue to beware of is pricey drinks and food. Nevertheless, the hotel has a great happy hour from 4-8 with two for one drinks. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to take a nice vacation on south beach.

This hotel was perfectly located for us. We were not quite sure what to expect but as soon as we got there, our room had been upgraded to a partial ocean view with large balcony. The concierge was very helpful and the staff was always looking to help! The hotel food was surprisingly good however we did not get around to trying STK (the hotel's restaurant). The pool party at the roof top on saturday was a lot of fun and well worth the hotel stay. I wouldn't recommend paying the 400$ a night rate for this hotel but if you get a deal it is well worth it!

I loved my stay here! It was my first time in Miami so I had a lot to take in a few short days. The hotel was right on the beach and just a short cab ride from all of my excursions. I was a female traveling alone and felt safe everywhere I went. All of my needs were met. The staff was very eager to assist in everything from arranging cab services to suggesting amazing places to dine, shop, and visit. Love love loved it!

We were in FL for a wedding and figured we would spend a day in Miami and booked the Gansevoort. We were deciding between the Sagamore and the Gansevoort. The rooms here were nice enough - large but there was unfurnished dead space and you could tell the rooms were a little worn. It is Miami and these rooms have likely seen some long nights, but still. I will say the bed was very comfortable. The lobby was nice and the rooftop pool was nice as well. The staff at the Rooftop were very attentive and had fun true religion uniforms, but they were dirty - it looked like people were only given one set and they were in need of a wash. They are white, so we will cut them a little slack, but if you are trying to be upscale, you have to look pulled together. We thought the main pool was in need of some TLC - the pool deck was kind of gross. Overall you can tell this place is struggling. It is in need of some renovation - from painting around the grounds, to covering up the huge ventilation system by the main pool. We went next door to the W for lunch (it was raining and the Gansevoort had no inside lunch option). You could clearly see the difference in quality and finishes and if the Gansevoort wants to compete with the higher end hotels - they have a lot of work to do. Our stay was fine, just not excellent and this is pretty far north and probably not worth the hassle.
