Location
As the closet hotel to Horseshoe Falls, the Oakes offers convenient access to popular fall's attractions like Maid of the Mist boat tours, Journey Behind the Falls and the Fallsview Casino. Rainbow Bridge, the Butterfly Conservatory and Bird Kingdom are a few minutes from the hotel by car.

Housekeeping was knocking the door for 3 times even though we requested for 12 noon checkout! That was kind of unnormal! They knocked ithe door between 8-10 am... Please inform housekeeping if a guest asked for late check out! I have stayed in enough hotel... Never happened... Now I have experienced in Oakes!

We really enjoyed the Room!! The jacuzzi, the view of the falls, and the lights on the Falls were Terriffic.

The room issued was not good.There were holes in the ceiling from leaks above. The beds were worn out! The room in general had not been upgraded for 30 years.The hotel said this is what you get through you guys. I requested something better or was ready to walk off. The upgrade was $20.00 more per night to the falls view side plus $15.00 per day for parking . The new room had broken furniture but the room view of the falls was great.I was a bit disappointed about the fact that I was charged that amount with such poor conditions in the first place. The travel insurance was okay, I guess but the rental car insurance was an unnecessary charge as the rental company offers this at the same amount with no 3rd party conditional coverage.I think you guys should leave that part to the rental car companies. The original rental was upgraded to a premium car for an additional $173.00 as the car itself was not recommended for our intent and was also recommended that their insurance is preferred as it is through the rental agency and not a 3rd party. My solemn recommendation to the Oakes is get an investor and renovate your real estate as the view is great from those rooms facing the falls! I will be more cautious in the future when booking my next holiday getaway!

I was extremely disappointed by this hotel, the room was filthy and dirty nothing worked properly. None of the lights worked had to call someone to fix them the shower was not working. We were kept in room that was a 10 min walk to the room. I injured my knee on the way. Thank gosh someone help us find the room otherwise I would never find the room. No internet access in the room no breakfast in the hotel. It was nowhere near the falls. Check in took ages and I was charged for parking which I was not told. I also could not find any parking in the evening so I had to park somewhere else on one night. I never ever had such a worst experience in my life. The hotel is out dated and needs cleaning the carpets smelled awful. Only thing I enjoyed was the falls.
