We've been before, and love this hotel. Staff very warm and efficient. Great atmosphere in the bar adjoining the lobby. We got a cheap deal on a room this time and it showed. It was a little cramped and the wallpaper was peeling. Bathroom was nice, would have been good to be offered body lotion with the shampoo soap etc.

we got a good deal for one overnight stay and perfect for visiting xmas markets. Staff very friendly and lovely atmosphere sitting in the bar area in the foyer in the evening. Room was ok but looked like the wallpaper had had some damp issues which spoiled the look pf the room - but maybe because we got a cheap deal these are the rooms used ? However it was lovely and quiet but the tea/ milk and water was very sparse - a few more tea bags would have been nice and a bottle of water each would have been good - but for one night night stay it was fine.

The hotel was really lovely. Our room was compact but had everything we needed. The staff were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel really special. The Christmas decorations were glorious and there was fantastic atmosphere. The location was stunning and close to the Chrismas markets and relatively close to the main shopping areas

Nice looking hotel. Excellent staff and service. Room looked nice but I suspect that many old rooms had been divided in 2 with paper thin walls. Certainly we could hear people talking (not shouting) all night.

I've stayed at this hotel several times now and I'm always struck by the high quality of the staff, who are mostly locals unusually. Location couldn't be better right next to the Metrolink tram St Peter's Sq, so getting to Piccadilly station couldn't be easier. Food quality overall high and good value for money. Real leaf tea during the afternoon and quality biscuits. Great atmosphere and environment to meet people in the lobby area.

My dad and partner stayed at the hotel as part of his 70th birthday present and were overwhelmed. They were upgraded to a superior room and said it was fantastic, the room was big enough to party in and had everything they could need. My only criticism was that I would rather they had been given a breakfast instead of an upgrade - the breakfast wasnt booked as it would have been about £40 extra so I didn't book as I thought that was a bit pricey and not necessarily good value.

The staff at The Midland are excellent, friendly and helpful, confirmed during several visits over the years. The bed was really comfy, not the typical board-hard loved by many hotels, plus the room was cool and quiet, not always the case in a city centre. The Wyvern restaurant is OK but not the best value or choice in Manchester.

Great hotel- efficient check in and lovely room. Only slight downside was size of pool and generally leisure facilities could do with a bit of refurbishment. Also shame that the saunas were located in each of the changing rooms which meant that if you had an opposite sex partner you had to use the sauna on your own. Also note that parking is not available at the hotel however there is an NCP car park very close by (£17 for 24 hours).
