Location
The Menzies Hotel is positioned along Carrington Street in Sydney, nine kilometres away from Sydney Airport. After taking pictures of Sydney Harbour Bridge, tourists climb atop Sydney Tower to take in the panoramic view of the city.

The hotel was great as were the staff, the parking however was a nightmare, underground in an old railway tunnel. It was hard to park even a small car. The car park itself was dirty and overun with cockroaches as well as being poorly lit. I would only stay at this hotel again if I did not need to driver there!

Very well located facing Wynyard Park/train station/bus interchange with a smell of NYC - maybe the green trees and the buzz. The place has these wooden walls, stripy wallpaper in the rooms, leather benches (Menzies era?), what is missing is the 'smoking room' so Churchill would fit perfectly. Avoid the breakfast at the 'Carrington' for hotel customers in the basement level. Suddenly it's more like a canteen, the place looses its character, and it's expensive - $48 for two continentals. Much better to walk 10mn to The Rocks for a much better experience - because the hotel is IN the centre. I liked it.

The Menzies was the best located hotel where I have stayed in Sydney. It is a short stroll to the Rocks, shopping, numerous restaurants and the Opera House. The room was comfortable and spacious and how nice to have a bath as well. The staff were most helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great, as was the Sunday roast at Sporters Bar. The pool, sauna and gym were most welcome too at the end of the day. A show at the Opera House (Blaze) was the reason for the 3 night city stay and I will definitely return to the Menzies.

Staff friendly, helpful. Location great for City excursions - many within walking distance. Public transport (bus and train) right out the front of the hotel.

we checked in and were upgraded to a king single room, we asked for the bed to be split, when we arrived back we had access but found the bed had not been split & luggage was missing, we had been moved to another room without being notified, it was so noisy we asked to be moved again, as I have medical condition the stress exacerbated my situation and I had to come home for medication. I could not be given a refund as I had booked online & not with the hotel itself. I would like my money refunded for the night we did not stay as soon as posible , not a pleasant experience Kate Phillips
