I come from Cyprus which is one of the best countries in the Hotel Industry (especially my city Limassol) and i am working for one of them which is Columbia Hotels & Resorts. If i compare the hotel is average. If i do not i can say it is very beautifull boutique hotel which is very clean and that is all i want when i travel abroad. The fact that there is no breakfast, there is a complementary coffee and tea at 10th floor which closes at 10pm and that you pay 10 dollars for internet per devise are really but charactriristics. In our hotel we pay a lot of money every year to provide free internet to all guests. Having to pay so much was really frustrating. For what i wanted from a hotel (Beauty & cleanliness) was perfect

The particular room I stayed in was very small (one double-bed), but it made due. I would recommend making sure what size the room is before booking. Overall, the hotel is very nice. It's located about 20 min walking distance from little italy and 15 min walking distance from the empire state building. I thought the hotel was ideal because it was somewhat in the middle of everything. The staff is very friendly, just make sure to bring your own cotton swabs and cotton balls, they do not have any. Good hotel, a little pricey.

I really like the hotel. It was very clean. I enjoyed walking to Les Halles for brunch.

Great staff, extremely friendly and helpful. Clean, modern, fun place to stay. Tiny rooms, but that's what you get for the price in NYC.

I travel to NYC quite often and usually with groups. Most often we stay at larger chain hotels which are fine for what we do but when I'm by myself I prefer the smaller boutique hotels. They offer more personal service and it seems like you're staying in your own apartment. Located in a quieter part of town, if there is such a thing, makes it seem more like your neighborhood. The rooms are small but you really don't need a big room because you're hardly ever there. Unless you plan on doing some entertaining, they are just enough. Clean and comfortable. My only thoughts on the negative side, if any, are that the elevators seem to have a mind of their own and sometimes go right past your floor while waiting.

On the first night we were given a room that could barely fit a single bed. It was more like a closet. There was no closet. no minibar. one could stretch both hands and touch the walls... only on the second night were we given a normal sized room. Be aware.

Beautiful Hotel with excellent service - great location too. The room was a little small but this was expected with New York accommodation. The restaurant next door was a fab find and the little bar downstairs was tastefully decorated and a nice way to wind down after a long day of exploring the city. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

Stayed in Feb '10 . Hotel is very clean. Staff are friendly. Location is convenient. We chose the room only option but we had hotel breakfast on one occasion and i was not impressed. There was a limited selection and the disposable plates and cultlery were a real turn-off, as was the price. For value for money i would recommend this hotel.

Rooms are small but reasonably decorated for price bracket. Initial room given at front of hotel suffered from outside noise to an unacceptable level, and no wardrobe. All staff were polite and helpful and in particular reception staff were very good in providing a quieter room alternative with a wardrobe. Hotel well located for business purposes but there were no proper facilities to allow business meetings at the hotel.

I had a bit of trouble checking in, first was placed across the hall from the world's noisiest ice maker, then into a room with a broken air conditioner, but the desk staff moved me twice without too much complaining. I then had to call again to retrieve a ring I'd left in one of the abandoned rooms, and they were kind enough to let me back in. The lounge and roof deck on the 10th floor are lovely. Rooms however are VERY small, so don't even think about staying here with kids. Good mid-range hotel for solo travellers, maybe a bit overpriced for tiny rooms, but the rest of the facilities are great.
