The Langham is situated right on Xintiandi, adjacent to Huai Hai Road. It is close to the underground rail network, making travelling to tourist sites like Shanghai New International Expo Centre and Bund convenient.

upon arrival the hotel claimed they had not received our booking confirmation from a well known hotel booking site...bzzzzzzzz....I then had to contact the hotel booking site and attempt to sort it out.....(the cost of another night's acommodation as I am not chinese national and had not yet purchased a local sim card for my cell phone).....confirmation finally resent to the hotel, but hotel now booked out for the room type of my booking, so had to pay extra for upgraded room......bzzzzzzzz.....then had to wait again (it's 4pm by now) while the room was cleaned.......bzzzzzz....all up it took 5 HOURS before I finally got into the expensive room I hadn't booked.....so a wasted afternoon in Xintiandi........hotel reception staff were absolutely hopeless......not even the offer of a coffee or glass of water during the ordeal.....so sadly, while it is a nice hotel, and in a great location, my experience was ruined by those first 5 hours so I would not stay at this hotel, nor use the hotel booking site ever again.
