The Kala Resort Samui Guest Reviews
It was really a bargain price for this brand new hotel as we get the opening special rate. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is more of botique hotel and most suitable for Honeymoon as it is really quiet and not much disturbance. We really enjoyed the stay there in Kala. It is better to get the delux room on Level 3 as the view is far better than the lower levels.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in luxurious surroundings & being the recipient of fantastic service then The Kala Samui is the place for you. The furnishings and rooms are quite rustic with an Asian flare. The food is imaginative & contemporary. Service is personable and attentive whilst being discrete. The hotel was running at 100% occupancy, and it always felt as though we were the only guests in the hotel. The pool is small but large enough to cool down. The walk down to the sea side took you through a meandering boardwalk under a lush canopy of tropical vegetation. Although there was no beach as such, you could still go swimming around the rocks. The hotel is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng but close enough that if you wanted to go it would only take around 10 minutes to get there. The hotel does offer a shuttle bus transfers to Chaweng. But we used Song Teow’s and Taxis which were easy to catch outside the hotel. We had a lovely time!

The pool villas are certainly very nice, we had the #6 and the view was lovely. The hotel decor and materials are very sophisticated. We enjoyed the snorkelling off the rocks and the pool is very pretty and well located high up (there was a family of 4 when we arrived and it means already saturated as too small)Continental breakfast was a bit mean (they had "run out" of croissants on the first morning and of wholemeal bread the second. The jam portions were tiny and the food we had for dinner was pricey and uninteresting. Walking from the hotel to other places is adventurous and dangerous, no lights on the roads at night and you run the risk of being run over by the cars and mopeds who don't care about the white line. All in all we were pleased to go to a second hotel during our stay and have our private small pool but we still wouldn't go back because of the remote location and inaccessibility of other places.
