The Kahala Hotel & Resort Guest Reviews
Didn't stay here, just came for a visit and lunch with friends who used to live on the island - ended up staying for hours. Food was perfect. Resort located in a very private place (at the end of the road). Whole place was visually an island paradise. From the swimming pools with nearby bar, private beach, hot tub, lagoons where they train dolphins, sea turtle lagoons, etc. it was fun just to walk around and visit. Hotel was totally away from the bustle of Waikiki Beach (a short drive - 10 min. away), and valet parking to assist when you need your car. If rooms are just as nice as the rest of the resort (which I'm sure they are), you will have a great stay. Attached condo's (?) on side/back of hotel overlook the dolphins swimming leisurely in their lagoons when not being trained. Rent a car, stay here, and take a day to drive around the island. It was beautiful. Deep blue ocean waters changed to aqua blue color with each curve on the road. Hike Diamond Head nearby. Visit the island - not just Honolulu. On the islands North side - called North Shore is where the huge surfer waves can be seen - especially in the winter months. Whales come during the winter as well. Don't forget to visit Pearl Harbor. After traveling around the island, Kahala Resort would be a great place to relax! Staff was very attentive to all our needs. We were told many "stars" stay here - due to its private location.

This hotel is truly out of this world. Obviously very expensive but it was our honeymoon and we were blown away by this hotel. We stayed in dolphin suite overlooking the lagoon and this was spectacular. Food and drink is not cheap here although you get large food portions. I would recommend people to order room service and have it set up on the balcony, this was really romantic and the service was excellent. A fridge is provided in all rooms so you are free to purchase drinks off site for consumption at hotel if you wish. Try the Royal Pine cocktail and Kona Mud Slide, they are delicious. Service was excellent and hotel facilities include everything you could wish for. Free paddle boarding lessons are available on private beach at certain times so ask for information at pool hut as this is not well advertised. The pianist and singer in the Veranda each evening is really good so have some drinks here and enjoy the chilled out atmosphere.
