To relax is this hotel a place to be. The beach is nearby and the service is good. For me the location is perfect. That is for sure I´ll be here the next time.

We booked the cottage room at the Jayakarta, and from what I could see it was not worth paying the extra to be in this room. On one website I read that the Jayakarta has a "state of the art gymnasium", I think they must have meant "state of the arc gymnasium", it consists of 6 rusting machines under a timber covering, outside near the swimming pool. Breakfast average, pool area good. We have 2 young children and I think we chose the wrong place to stay with them. For couples etc. then I think it may be more appropriate. Some staff friendly others not... we looked around at a lot of hotels when we knew that we did not want to stay on there for more than 2 nights and we found lots of places that were far better than the Jayakarta for the same amount of money. Getting in to town by bemo will cost 3000 rp and taxi 15000 rp.Hope the information helps others, we read a lot of good reviews on the hotel and I think a lot of it is luck as to which room you get and what you are looking for.

Service in the Jayakarta was good - the staff were very friendly. However, as previously noted by other guests, the breakfast served was really only so-so - but given the price, I can't really complain much. Cleanliness of the room could've been better. There were still hair on the floor from the previous occupant and that was slightly disgusting. And everytime I needed to take a shower, I had to call up the Maintenance Department to switch on my hot water. Apart from that, it was a nice enough stay.

The staff is friendly and always helpful. The grounds are well maintained. The food is average and you will need a vehicle or taxi to get around as there is very little to do in walking distance. It has a gym with weightlifting equipment but it is in need of maintenace.

We have stayed at the Jayakarta before and enjoyed it. My children are especially fond of it because of the pool and the staff. We were there on this trip from Christmas Day until the 29th. Most likely because of the reaction to the Bali bombing, there were almost no foreign tourists in the hotel. There were a lot of domestic tourists.

The pizzeria was closed for several days and the breakfast buffet was in the restuarant upstairs. It was an Indonesian buffet which I don''t particularly enjoy, although my children did. I found it disappointing that I was not able to have the excellent Western buffet that we had in July. We were planning on staying there in July again, but if the same situation exists we will probably look for another hotel.
