Having grown up in the area and always wondering what it would be like to stay at the HAJ, my stay was very enjoyable. The investment in upgrades and upkeep was obvious, the staff was great and the view from the 9th floor was awesome. I'll book again the next time I'm back that way.

Great central location in downtown Rapid City with good restaurants and interesting gift shops nearby. Beautiful lounge area on the top floor with incredible view of the city (a must-see at night). Lobby has a nice homey old-fashioned feeling with Seattle Coffee Company accessible from the lobby. Designated free parking 1-1/2 blocks away, however. Bathroom in the rooms need more counter/storage space and had trouble two of the nights with TV reception. Hotel personnel at our room within 5 minutes to fix problem, so great staff reaction to a problem. Will definitely stay there on my next visit.

Great location! Wonderful restaurant across the street, Tally's Silver Spoon. Being a historic building, some of the rooms are small so opt for a larger room/bathroom. The beds were very comfy and the bedding nice, too. Clean. HG TVs but there is so much to see in the area, you won't want have much time for tv! Check out the artsy, grafitti laced alley next door.

This hotel meet and beat all of my expectations. The price was fantastic, the staff was courteous, and the room was comfy & clean. This hotel has it all, there is a bar downstairs that has a great atmosphere and a coffee shop right next door to help you get going in the morning. The rooms were great and you can't find a better room in downtown Rapid City for the price. Parking can be a little difficult on weekdays, but it wasn't too big of a deal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone conducting business in downtown Rapid City or for any vacationers who need a good base camp to explore the Black Hills. I will definitely stay here again.

Even though the room was very tight to move around in (especially after room service delivered) and the shower was very small, overall it was a very nice hotel and a nice room with a GREAT view! The bed was marvelously comfortable! I don't think the princess would have found the pea with the mattress we slept on! It was fantastick! The room service food was good too! BE WARNED: I though a cup of coffee was one of those small cup sized servings -- I WAS WRONG! The coffee delivered was more along the lines of a Starbuck's Venti size coffee serving!
