Nice enough place. The room was comfortable enough. The corridoors are a bit of a rabbit warren. The restuarant was good with nice food and attentive staff.

At check in the directions to our room were not very clear, had an upstairs room which was very hot, but a fan was promptly supplied when requested.

the service we found to be good although we did find it lacked "personality". but we would go back again.

Very impressed, ideal location for us, surprised more guests weren't there. Perhaps needs an ad campaign to make people more aware of it.

Two things should be noted about this hotel: The first is that it is more than a half hour car trip from Oxford. It is MILES away from anything and far off in the countryside. If you do not have a car (as I didn''t) it is a real journey -there is only one bus that reaches the Holt Hotel. The second thing to note is that this is a fabulous hotel and better than anything that you will find in Oxford. The scenery is absolutely stunning, the rooms and food fabulous, and it is all very reasonably priced. I was upset when I discovered how far away it was but was later overwhelmingly happy that I was not stuck in tourist-filled Oxford. Anybody considering staying at this hotel should -you will not regret it (It is also very near to Blenheim Castle).Review by: Anonymous
