The Grace Hotel Sydney
4 out of 5

I booked the Grace for hubby's birthday. Excellent location. Easy walk to great shopping, Cockle Bay and eateries. Room was beautifully decorated and bed wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was very good and staff were courteous and very helpful. Hotel has parking at reasonable cost. The Grace has been beautifully transformed from the original Grace Brs store to an elegant, very up market and comfortable hotel, and very affordable.Do yourself a favour and stay a night at The Grace, you won't be disappointed:)

An amazing art deco inspired building to stay at, with a very relaxing and elegant atmosphere, in a great area of central Sydney.

When ever we stay in the city we always go back to the Grace, as it is mid city, value for money, and nice rooms.

Nothing exceptional. Concierge staff very rude - lots of improvement needed in dealing with guests.

We had two rooms and stayed 4 nights in July. It was a great rate we received and were delighted with the amenities. The spa and sauna were awesome and very clean and it was great to sit back and unwind after hitting the shops and sight seeing all day! The hotel is within walking distance to Darling Harbour and The Rocks and has everything you need right on your doorstep. We only ate in the Grace Brasserie for breakfast once and it was nice but for $35 each would have expected a lot more! We did not use room service either, as the prices were too high. That being said, there are take aways and lovely restaurants everywhere within a minutes walk. The parking was expensive too, but we worked out that parking in the streets beside the hotel was available at night and was free from 10pm to 7am, and it seemed to work for us to do this a couple of times, as hubby was always up early anyway and would go down and pay the meter with his card :) The staff were really lovely and helpful. The hairdryer blew a fuse and within 5 minutes the maintenance man had installed a new one and fixed the power. The air con was difficult to work out at first when trying to lower the temp, but the staff also came and explained how to use (press the up arrow first then the down arrow) the sign didn't explain that! All in all a very very happy time was had at The Grace Hotel and if I could get a good rate again, would definitely stay again.

I highly recommend this hotel, in an excellent location in Sydney, an easy walk from Wynard or Town Hall stations, a few minutes to the main shopping area and across to Darling Harbour, about a 15min walk down to Circular Quay. Compfortable room and common areas, well presented throughout. Will defintley stay here again if prices are as reasonable.

I've stayed here twice now, for multiple nights each time, and like The Grace. It's a central hotel in a beautiful heritage building, with good amenities, and fairly reasonable rates. The desk staff and concierge are always helpful, room service is good and the rooms are quite spacious. the maid service lacks attention to detail, but not in any great way. Lovely hotel.

This hotel is well located within the CBD. Rooms are average as is the level of service. Air conditioning was loud and intrusive. Serviceman was required to reset it.

Great place to stay for business or leisure. Rooms are good size as its an older hotel but it is classical while still modern. Service is really the let down here so as long as you don't need help or eat at the restaurants then you will be fine. Food quality is average. Great location though so close to plenty of other food places.

The hotel is older with updated bathrooms and some charm and elegance. The on-site restaurants are NOT good value - over-priced. There are other choices nearby. The staff were helpful but not particularly pleasant. The location is in the business district with a short walk to the Sydney Tower which is worth a visit as the views from the top are amazing. There are lots of cafes in the same building and the IMax film is worth watching there.

Was good for a weekend getaway. Close walk to Darling Harbour & right in the heart of the CBD. The rooms were nothing special but the building is quite charming. Breakfast service was expensive, and even dearer if you don't prepay the night before !

We had tickets to see the Jersey Boys so we chose the Grace Hotel due to it's close proximity to the Theatre Royal in King Street. The Hotel is located within an easy 3 block stroll to the theatre. We were lucky enough to find parking underneath the Hotel at approx $45 overnight (one Parking Station nearby was going to charge us $200 for an overnight - even for Sydney, that's a disgrace). The checkin staff were very pleasant and helpful, the King Size room spotless and quiet (make sure you ask for an inner facing room). The hot water had excellent pressure, and there was no waiting time for the lifts. We had a quiet drink in the upstairs bar (took advantage of the Happy Hour), and dinner in the restaurant facing York street. The food was delicious, nice wine and reasonably for Sydney standards - and the service good. Breakfast next morning was a relaxing experience - not too rushed or too crowded. Nice selection of fresh fruit, hot and pastries and good coffee. We didn't get a chance to use the health club or lap pool upstairs. The hotel is beautifully restored in a fantastic location, close to the Pitt Street Mall for shopping and city trains. It's an excellent hotel for tourists and Sydney-siders - thanks Grace Hotel. We'll definitely stay here again.
