The Governor Hotel Portland Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

This very centrally located landmark hotel is just perfect if you need to be in the middle of downtown. You can walk to lots of places. No need for a car or cab. The price is right. The hotel is old but well maintained. The rooms could be a little brighter but this won't deter from the overall rating.

I was there for one night on a business trip and I had a good stay. The hotel provided everything I needed and the staff was friendly. Jakes is really nice. The location is great. It is a historical building and feels dated but classy. The walls are a bit thin and creaky. I could hear lots of different noises and such, but it didnt really bother me.

The hotel was excellent. Very beautiful building, close to everything downtown we wanted to visit. Added perk of a Starbucks located on the ground floor. We would defintely go back and probably will.

I've never been to Portland and just decided to go there! I booked a month in advance and snagged a deal on this hotel and it was so worth it! Starbucks is in the hotel and Jake's restaurant, too! It's close to the rail, the hotel is pretty on the outside, sensible on the inside, warm employees and quick with our wants (i.e. wine bottle opener, cabs, etc.) My room was small, but had an ample bathroom! The hallways smelled like "grandma's house" - they need to do something about that; change the carpeting. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay here again!
