The District Hotel Washington DC Guest Reviews
PLUSES: * Cheap * Great location * Clean NEGATIVES: * Extremely tiny rooms. * Breakfast is just okay, not superb as others say.

If you have a little more money, choose their bigger rooms. If you have even more money, stay at somewhere else. I feel it is only a little better than a hostel. (Unfortunately International House of United Tel was not available at that time.) The room I had was incredible small for human beings.

I was visiting Washington, DC for the first time so for me it was really important to stay in comfortable hotel with a good location and with a "fine" price. Location: Hotel located just 2 blocks away from main part of Downtown. It is walking distance to metro and to everything. (downtown and closest areas anyway its a walking distance). Room: I was staying in a room with 1 bed. Room was small but clean. Anyway for me as a woman the more important area is a big bathroom in this hotel room. Service: Personal of this hotel was really kind and helpful. Benefits: breakfast time was the best part. 6 to 9 am you have an opportunity of really good breakfast at the lobby of this hotel. U can find everything necessary important and stay full till the evening.

The hotel was ok but not what I expected. The rooms were very small but the beds were comfortable. The only problem was that the AC unit was right behind the headboard and the water leaked from the 2nd floor ceiling into the tub which woke me up a few times.

Got to hotel at 11:45 PM. Informed, "we're undergoing renovation and we don't have a room for you" . No apology. Told I could stay at their sister hotel, the Windsor for the same price and that they would call a cab for me. I asked if I could walk there thinking it might save time and staff said sure, that he walks there to work sometimes. So I walked, which turned out to be further than I anticipated--but not an unpleasant walk. It's now well after midnight. Asked for a nice room--told--"they're all nice". Again no apology for the inconvenience. Given room on 4th floor with no elevator and no offer to help carry my luggage. Room with two small single beds which were quite uncomfortable with crinkly mattress pads. They reminded me of cots I've slept on in more Spartan conditions in foreign countries. One would think that after having been made to move to another inferior hotel in the middle of the night that at least an apology would have been in order, let alone perhaps some financial consideration. Management needs to do some work here! Buyer beware.
