The Diplomat Hotel Sliema Guest Reviews
The Diplomat is a lovely older style hotel right on the esplanade in Sliema. The view from the seafront room is spectacular. There are a few restaurants close by and many others within a reasonable walking distance. Buses pick up and drop off nearby, which makes getting around the island very convenient. The hotel rooms are in need of refurbishment and the front desk staff were indifferent to the guests. Specific questions were answered, but no additional information was given and every request seemed to be an imposition on their time. This was in sharp contrast to the staff who served in the restaurant at breakfast, who were cheerful and helpful. We saw guests actually asking the waitresses for information that should have been forthcoming from the front desk. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful and from the number of guests who took advantage of the cheap buffet dinners it seems the restaurant was a hit with guests.

Excellent location and wonderful views from the front seaview room. Property a little tired looking and could do with a revamp. The desk staff were very helpful and spoke English well.

No heating at night in December (I know Malta is warm but 12 C at night i scold). Shower without a mobile handle (fixed up almost at the ceiling) _ I hate to wash my hair like this. Furniture and equipment old and worn out. These are the only weak points - the sea view and service on the contrary - just perfect!

An excellent view to the sea and good location. Some noice from the traffic (especially the buses) but otherwise a very comfortable hotel with a nice rooftop pool.
