Great ambience and a personality not normally found in a five star hotel.

The service in the hotel left much to be desired. The butler said we must be mistaken when no newspaper was at the door! The staff delivered the wrong food at both dinner and breakfast. We got late check-out but our room key was not programmed so we could not get into our room. Even the assistant hotel manager who was with us at breakfast was embarassed when an order of eggs came to me that I had not ordered. It happened twice at the same meal!

Overall, this hotel is gorgeous and chilled out. Our room was fantastic and for the most part the staff are courteous, however the concierge staff seemed very new and confused. One of them told us all museums were closed (we were there on a public holiday) but when we happened to drive past one museum we''d wanted to visit in a taxi, it was open. We were also dropped like a hot potato when the concierge staff were informed that a VIP guest was visiting and they all had to be at the door. No one offered to help us plan the rest of our visit which wasted a lot of time. This was something we''d expect at a 3 star hotel but not here.
