Where to start......The building is beautiful and rooms large, comfortable and luxurious but the staff let the hotel down and it is souless. Don't go for the beach if you like to swim in it. The beach is only ok to sit on a lounger. We had a 2 year old and didn't want him near the water. The pool is good but with no policy on reserving seats you have to sometimes fight for a seat. The hotel really only has one restaurant the other is a cafe and the Verandah room for drinks is stunning but all of the common areas are souless. We had a problem with a special dinner being organised on the beach after 7 phone calls over 4 hours plus prebooking it, we cancelled. Each department does not seem to work well together. F & B Management is not up to standard. Once in the verandah room we were the only ones there and Inglo was sitting at the bar talking to the singers, well our drinks took ages to come and he was not aware. If he was not on duty then he should have been out of his uniform but even then if he cared he would hurry the staff. Examples the day we left we were the only ones at breakfast and orderd coffee and tea as you do, well they managed to get it wrong or the time I asked for medium boiled eggs for my son and when they werent cooked enough we asked for hard boiled and they came back with one virtually raw.??? Many of the wait staff have poor english and breakfast is hit and miss as to what sort of service and tea you will be brought. The location 20 mins from main beach area and right next to perdana quay is ok. Time after time there were small things that keep adding up that make the staff in this hotel seem as if they have no direction from managment and no proper training. If you are going to charge 5 star prices then you except much from them. i.e. by the end of our 6 day stay they were still calling my husband by my name and there was not a soul around when we checked out at 7am. We have recieved better service at 4 star hotels. They know they have a problem as guests we met had asked to sit down and tell them how they can make it better. Give it a miss until they sort themselves out. Dissappointed. By comparison we went to the thai restaurant at the near by berjaya restaurant and the service was exceptional. The four seasons is much better for an expensive 5 star.

We went there for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. The pool especially was amazing. I had been to Langkawi before and didn't enjoy my time that much but staying at the Danna made me love my experience there this time.
