I booked this hotel because of high review scores on tripadvisor.com. Yes, it's a small hotel with very friendly staff, however, you need to pay attention that: 1. Breakfast: you need to wait for 1 hour normally, especially you travel with friends. And you don't have many choice if you stay more than 3 days. Positive point is you can have breakfast in the front of your room, but the hotel is too small, there are no difference and I prefer to have it in roof or you will have breakfast together with other guests in the front of rooms... 2. Small: Hotel is nice but really very small. You have nothing to do sometimes. 3. High price: Not only for room price, but also for the massage and taxi. So finally we book the massage and taxi by ourselves

Beuatiful Small Boutique Resort. Staff could not be more helpful. The limestone cliff backdrop is stunning.

Great setting. Warm and friendly staff, who will make sure your holiday is great. Perfect to relax at the swimming pool, and not to far from the beach. We loved it.

This hotel has exceptional hospitality, even among Thai standards. The resort itself is about 600m from the beach but we found that this provided some needed distance from the constant noise generated by the longboates. The food was also exceptional, both the breakfast and the dinner.

The hotel is a magical place. It was perfect for us. It is farther than other hotels from the "center" of Ao Nang but we didn´t mind the walk (10 minutes). Also the outdoor bathrooms are fantastic but you have to be willing to live among nature, i.e. showering with frogs, grekos and other friendly little creatures.

The staff at The Cliff were extremely friendly and helpful. The ambience was great and rooms nicely decorated and comfortable. Outdoor bathroom was good, as was the pool. We had a great meal under the stars too. The only thing I''d change about the hotel is its location - the walk to the beach is 10mins down a busy main road past McDonalds, 7-Eleven, etc.

As you can see from my rating, this is a special place! First impression: Rooms too small, too far away from the sea, you can not see the beach, a bit noisy due to the nearby road. Second impression: Excellent staff, beautiful small boutique type hotel. The pool was just a few meters away from our room. The breakfast is served in front of your room. After a busy day you return to the hotel and are away from the crowd and you feel lyie being in a large private villa, not in a hotel. Overall impression: We will come back for a few days, if we visit Krabi region again.

Nice layout of the resort, many plants and beautiful design elements in the lobby. Also impressive view from the pool, but that''s where it ends! They call their rooms "mountain view bungalow" but they should be labeled as "no frills no view room". One of the smallest rooms I ever stayed in. It''s nearly impossible to stay inside the room unless you want to rest. Even reading a book becomes uncomfortable because of the dim light. No view except to the neighbouring bedroom, very sticky and already muldy, though it''s a quite new resort. OK, they have an outdoor bathroom, but guess what: The neighbour''s bathroom is just next to yours. So much for privacy... Also there is absolute no ventilation in the bathroom. So your clothes won''t dry. All in all a standard resort (though they clame to be among Thailand''s Top 50) but not when it comes to value for money.

I definitely recommend this hotel. It''s a nice quiet, boutique hotel with an exceptional staff. We had trouble finding a hotel in Bangkok (believe it or not, everything thing was fully booked), which was our next destination. The staff called over 20 hotels to help us find a room. Even before this happened, the staff was always extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. This was actually the only place that we felt the "Thai spirit" that I had read about. The room was on the small side, but adequate and spotless. The bathroom does not have 4 walls, but this was not a problem; there''s full privacy and protection from the elements. The rain shower head was great! The hotel is a little bit farther from the action, but that''s what we were looking for...it''s only a 10 min walk to the action/beach area and there are other stores/hotels/restuarants along the way. There are plenty of taxis/tuktuks around to drive you back if you didn''t want to walk.

Everything was really fine. The restaurant was especially good. I read a few negative comments on this website and find them hard to understand.

We booked this hotel partly because of the great reviews it had received. Unfortunately the hotel did not live up to these reviews. It is not in a great position, but that doesn''t matter too much as Ao Nang is a small place. However, it just isn''t worth the price they charge - it''s not cheap, and the rooms are tiny and fairly basic. The outside bathroom is horrible - sounds nice, but it was really dank and damp and involved being bitten by insects and showering with varying insects and amphibians. Not a pleasant experience. Breakfast isn''t good either. The pool is nice though, and the staff try quite hard. We didn''t try the restaurant so I can''t comment on that. I would advise others looking to stay in Ao Nang to consider another hotel.

Very friendly staff that responds quickly to your request. The room is slightly on the small side, but it''s comfortable. Enjoyed the service of breakfast served to the room. About a 5-10 mins walk to the town, which is fine, except under the hot weather that makes the journey particularly laboured. Overall, a great experience.

The hotel is a bit far away from the main tourist area in Aonang. It takes abt 15-20 mins walk to the main shops. The room is a bit small, but not too uncomfortable at all. The restaurant had really great food! The chef is supposed to be the best in the area. Dinner and breakfast came free with the room. The restaurant was on the 2nd floor, overlooking the roads and had a clear view of the cliff. Ambience was wonderful.

The staff noticed it was my birthday when we were checking into the hotel and during dinner, they surprised me with a birthday cake! It was a great birthday surprise. Breakfast was also great! We could have breakfast anywhere in the resort. We asked to have it outside our room, which was facing the pool! So convenient! We got out of bed, opened the door and had breakfast! The staff were very well trained. Excellent service!

The resort was wonderful and staff very friendly. Bungalow rooms rather small and lacking a few details (no tissues, not enough hangers or storage space) but the outside bathroom was spacious and the table and chairs outside the room were nice. Enjoyed eating our breakfast in private there. One small complaint - the resort was very quiet when we were there but for some reason they let 2 adjacent rooms - it would have been much nicer if they''d spread out the few guests they had. The swimming pool was great. Overall a lovely place to stay, but not for families.

Fantastic hotel with really stylish ambience. Rooms are on the small side, but we would definitely go back again. When a little packed, restaurant service is a little slow. But overall: A great place for couples!

We really loved this Hotel. Friendly and personal service, beautiful location and tastefully decorated individual cottages. Excellent Thai cuisine. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Although it''s more suitable to couples than families. Wonderful view of the cliff, easy walk into town and the Beach.
