We had 3 days at the Park Inn and suites and were expecting more than we actually got. The room was tiny and we had a view of a brick wall. The bathroom was miniscule. It is a lovely looking old hotel, but they wanted $46 per day to park our car. There is a garage up the street which charges about $31 per day for self parking. The full breakfast at the hotel was $25 each per day, which made for an expensive start to the day if we were to take it on. We managed to find cheaper places to eat around the hotel. The internet charges were also $12.50 per day if you wished to use it in your room. It is free in the lobby, but if you wanted to use skype to call home, it was near impossible due to the large number of people in the lobby. Most hotels we have stayed at over the past 4 weeks in the USA have offered free wifi in the rooms. If we were to return to Boston, we would certainly look for somewhere else to stay.

Everything was superb! I loved the room service and the location I was in was very convenient. Peaceful environment and was able to sleep well. Also had a nice souvenir store on the first floor. I had everything I needed at the Hotel and didn't have any concerns about anything lacking. A great experience, look forward to staying at the Boston Park Plaza again when I return to Boston.

The Park Plaza is in a perfect location. The hotel staff is friendly and courteous. Rooms are clean. For an older hotel, you couldn't do better and at an affordable price per night.

A little down at heel, this one. Windows that look into the other rooms across the way meant keeping the blinds down all the time. It was a cold week in Boston and the heating in the hotel wasn't up to the task. More importantly, I was part of a large conference centre group, and I think everyone showered at the same time of day -- and I awoke one morning to a *cold shower*!! I'm afraid the absence of hot water at 7 am in a hotel in the middle of winter is a dealbreaker. The staff were friendly enough, but were not willing to offer me any refund for the inconvenience. Also, note that wireless internet is approximately $13/day.

Oh, Hannah at the front desk, if you had just not fought me on the free breakfast, I probably would have just moved on unhappily and not bothered to write this review. This is an old hotel, so I was ready for the small room and postage stamp sized bathroom; no problem. What I was not prepared for was how God-awful the customer service is at this hotel, how dirty and dingy the room was, and the drunks screaming in the hallway at 3am which the hotel did nothing about. As I said, I was highly irritated, but I would have probably sulked away with my mouth shut, had it not been for 2 incidents which just topped off the whole experience. I booked online and went down to pick up my free breakfast vouchers (supposed to get free breakfast when you book online). My pal Hannah refused to honor the special because I didn't click the right spot or some such nonsense. I probably could have kept fighting in, made a stink and got the free breakfast, but I don't beg. I make enough money to buy my own breakfast, but that's not the point, is it? Second, as I am checking out after my second night, my wife gets cornered by one of the lobby attendants and chastised for about 5 minutes because we had used one of the baggage carts to bring down our luggage. Seriously? Let me tell you how bad these guys are: This is the first hotel I have stayed in where the bellmen stand inside and watch you struggle with the door and your luggage and don't move to help. We stood around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help us with our bags, but the attendants were nowhere to be found (which is why we took a cart and loaded it ourselves). To then find one of these idiots lecturing your wife when you walk back over from the front desk was enough to make my blood boil! I have stayed in many hotels in my 30 years, ranging from Motel Sixes in small towns to 5 star resort hotels in Lisbon, Rio, and New York. This was, without question the most angry I have ever been about a hotel experience. I have a proposition for management: Please contact me and I will be happy to come in and spend a few days as a consultant. I myself am a business manager, and could easily correct many of your glaringly obvious problems.

Great location. One block from the "T" and easy access to downtown. Short walk to Newberry Street. Room spacious (Deluxe King) and clean. Few areas showed asome age (edge of carpet by the bathroom, few cracks in bathroom fixtures (but no leaks). Good value through Travelzoo. However, the $36 per day valet parking was a surprise bill at checkout - NO ONE disclosed the parking fee during booking. Watch out !

Have booked it as last minute deal while changing pur plans in Boston. Everything was just in time, no complaints at all. Building is located close to the main shopping streets and 10 minutes walk to Quincy market.

The room was clean and the staff pleasant. We stayed on New Year's Eve and had several free concerts and fireworks to celebrate the holiday. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located in a great location. It is within walking distance to many attractions. I really enjoyed having a railway stop 1 block away from the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the boston area.

I had stayed here once before and the first time was not terrible, but it definitely was not great. Room was a little dingy, no view but there were two full bathrooms which is very nice! It was summer the first time I stayed at this hotel, this past time was in December 2011. I do not remember being uncomfortable during my first visit but this last time was unbearable. We arrived in the room and it was really warm in the room so we figured we would turn the heat down as low as it could go while we left for dinner expecting it to be a comfortable temperature when we got back. When we returned it was still blaring hot so we turned the heat off. May I mention it was probably a high of 30 degrees outside. The windows only opened about a foot and we were on the inside of the building so we got no breeze. I contacted someone about it because after trying to tolerate it none of us could sleep due to the heat. They said they knew and there was nothing they could do about it. So I paid for a room that was nothing special and was so EXTREMELY uncomfortable that neither of us could sleep. Sorry I gave you two tries and I will not be returning to your hotel. The only nice part is the location but it is not worth it.

Fantastic location, nice hotel and as we went through an internet booking company we got an amazing deal for $100 a night in a very centralized hotel in Boston two days after Christmas. The room was comfortable with everything one would expect to find in a good hotel such as the Park Plaza. Overall a very pleasant experience, and would go again.

Bought a queen room for two nights, they say they are out and want to upgrade me to a king for free. Well of course right? Well dont let them cause they will give you a handicapped room on a floor that seems to.be reserved for their lowerclass customers. Cable tv consisted of 8 news channels, and a horrible movie channel playing movies that couldnt even make it to a redbox. And nothing was complimentary. No breakfast, the tea thing they advertise never happened, and overall not what I was expecting for the price. Would have been better off at a holiday inn. The loby and the location are the only good points this place got.
