Abode is in a perfect spot in the city-- within 30 min walk of anything (including the subway and train). The decor is very nice, and the old elevator is quite unique. However, the room we had was VERY small (no drawers for clothes, no shelves, small closet alcove) and the TV only had 8 channels (not too much of a problem since we weren't in the hotel much, but still would have liked to watch more than sports or game shows). The restaurant/bar is AMAZING!!! The staff are fun, extremely knowledgeable, and make amazing drinks! But they are aiming to close down the place due to lack of customers, which is a terrible shame. I will likely stay somewhere else, but will definitely visit the restaurant/bar if it stays open.

We were delighted with the Abode Hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was modern and comfortable and the Hotel decor very attractive. The dining and bar facilities were great and the staff very helpful. Although there is not a large range of restaurant choices in the immediate vicinity, the hotel is close to public transport. We would recommend the Abode as a cost effective quality option for Glasgow.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at the Abode. The standard of the hotel was excellent and in a good central location. The bar and restaurant had a good atmosphere and the food was good quality. We were particularly impressed by the standard of service provided by the hotel staff. We would certainly consider returning.

The building is victorian therefore it has plenty of character although the room we had did not smell very fresh. Service was good, bed reasonable, although I would say we paid more for a room that was not that special.

Very attractive Victorian Hotel. Modern Bar and dining room. Bedroom was too warm but had air conditioning. Reception service was excellent but service at breakfast wasn't good!

The bedroom could be improved with some fresh decoration in small areas of the room, other than that it was well worth the price and the location is excellent for an overnight city stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful lobby and staircase, clean, sizeable rooms with art on the walls. Swish restaurant and bar downstairs, menu looks good. No complaints.

The staff are helpful in a friendly and very Scottish way, so one feels comfortable and at home right away. The room I had was well sized and appointed. The shower did lack a bit of power, although there was plenty of hot water (but almost all British showers seem to exibit the same lack-lustre performance!). The inside of the building (the former offices of the Scottish Education Department) is very spectacular. Plenty to eat at breakfast, with good choices. I've already booked my next stay.
