We spent 14 nights in the Alden Beach hotel and found the stay comfortable. The room had all the things you need to make your stay exactly what you need. The only thing I would say is that as these rooms have basic kitchens the American families use them and it gets busy at weekends. Otherwise a great place to stay

While the hotel is older and the furniture in our room was not very comfortable, we really liked having such a large space. We had a room on the 6th floor with a decent view overlooking the pool. We loved having the kitchen in the living room area. We had breakfast and lunch in our own kitchen! We ate in downtown St. Petersburg quite often for dinner. This was a great trip!

Being right on the beach is great. super nice and helpful concierge. I really like having more room than just a standard hotel room, and a fridge. A pool with a shady side is great in summer, as is covered parking. Gulf front suites have better layout than pool view, and private gulffront balcony vs shared long balcony on pool side. (I downgraded comfort because of the wierd couch,TV layout in pool view room.) Good barbeques and patio for dinner.

I booked this place for a July stay for a friend's wedding. [...] The room I got was supposed to be a pool view, but looking out my window, I saw plants. However, it really is walking distance to the sands. There were other rooms that faced the beach, but I'm sure those were pricier. The maid service and front desk service was very friendly. My only complaint really was that they don't have a business center, but they are willing to print out boarding passes for you. I guess you can't expect a business center for a "resort" type of place right? After all, it should be for pleasure. The quality of the room was about 3 stars worth. Hey, it's not the W, but it's not like I paid "W" money or anything. Overall it was a good experience.
