Nong Khai has a topical climate; from May through September the weather is rainy, cloudy and warm with temperatures of 90°F (32°C) and above. October to April are drier and produce cooler temperatures of 80°F (27°C). Average annual rainfall for the area is 50 inches (1,270 mm).
Getting There & Around
The Udon Thani Airport is the closest for those travelling to Nong Khai. Shuttle buses to hotels in town travel up to four times daily. There are taxis and minibuses that provide transportation from the airport as well.
In the city, tuk-tuks are available to transport people about. Fares need to be decided upon before entering the tuk-tuk. Bicycling around the area is another great way to see the sites.
