The best time to visit Mae Hong Son is during November through May, when the temperatures are cooler and the rainfall isn’t heavy. From June to October, the temperatures range between 14-32°C. Also during these months, rainfall measures around 185 mm per month.
Getting There & Around
Visitors basically have two choices for reaching this destination. The first is by air with flights to the Mae Hong Son Airport, and the second is by road. If travellers do come by road from Chiang Mai, they should expect a long journey filled with winding roads.
Getting about town is best done by walking or motorcycle taxis. There are also rental cars available in the town for those wanting to explore the area.
