Ten Manchester Street Hotel London
4 out of 5

Really lovely hotel. Great location. Rooms on the smallish side but it is London. Most comfy bed I think I have ever slept in at a hotel. Only downside is that the bathroom had no blind and the doors are glass so woke up with bright sunshine in my face coming through the bathroom door.

In a convenient and quiet location, the hotel appears a little tired, but the room was a good size, well furnished, and good value at the price I paid. I would go there again.

Generally the hotel was good in terms of location and character, however, the beds were terribly old and one could feel the mattress springs digging into ones body when sleeping. Smoking was allowed in the communal waiting areas which was very unpleasant. Toilet seats were visibly old and could do with replacing, as could the shower fittings. Dangerously old carpets that could trip one up when walking over them. The breakfast was not pleasant, with very bad coffee. Todays traveller is now so much more selective in terms of good coffee, this is one of the smaller things one can change which makes a big difference.

I just needed a clean and functional room for a night in central London at the cheapest possible price. On the positive side, the hotel is conveniently located, the room was clean, had its own bathroom and served its purpose. On the negative side, it was in the basement, it was next to the lift shaft, it was generally noisy as the walls were prettythin ( I could hear a baby crying during the night in a room nearby), the fittings in the room were poor and it was tiny. Given its size, it could have done without a huge lampshade that hung down so far that you either had to walk around it, or bump int it. I guess you get what you pay for. It served its purpose, and maybe other rooms higher up are better.

I stayed in a basement room. It was very noisy (air conditioning / heating system?).

Looks better on the outside than in. In need of renovation - chipped toilet and sink - carpet in the bathroom.

Very Friendly. It was raining when I arrived and before I'd even checked in reception staff immediately offered a towel to dry my soaked hair. Would definitely stay again.
