Hotel rooms we stayed in are in need of refurbishment, such as creaking doors and old bathrooms. For the price (US$50 or more) in Indonesia, better in-room facilities are expected like room slippers, coffee & tea making facilities, toiletries (instead of just shower gel & shampoo). Electric jug was provided only on request. The hotel surroundings are what sets it apart. Fantastic gardens and foliage. Great and very friendly service from the staff.

Nice rooms in lovely gardens. Excellent staff, all very friendly and helpful. A bit far from town but a free all-day shuttle service solved that problem. A nice restaurant with good food and reasonably priced. The pool is nice but needs more shade, and more comfortable lounges. All in all very good value, I will certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Taman Harum means 'fragrant garden', and we were very pleased with our choice. Although it is quite a distance from Ubud (just south of Mas), the free shuttle service was available on demand, and we were able to enjoy the quieter location by the rice padi. Breakfasts were very good, and we also dined there one night and were pleased with our meal. Our villa had ample space, and was very comfortable. We had our own little elevated bale, with a view over the rice fields, and loved to sit out there at night and listen to the bullfrogs. The plumbing was not perfect, but we figured it, and even had a couple of late night soaks in our outdoor hot tub. Its pool is small, which wasn't a problem, but it could do with a little more shade. We did not take advantage of any of the extra services such as woodcarving and cookery lessons, partly through not finding time, but also these seemed overpriced by Balinese standards. We would be very happy to go back to Taman Harum on our next Bali trip.

The sructure of the building is superb as you can really feel the balinese style of living. The weak point of the hotel is, there's too many mosquitoes no matter day or night.

The location is not great, it is located outside the town of Ubud. However, the driver will collect or drop you any time you wish in the town.

A lovely place with extremely friendly staff. Far from perfection: pick-up from the wrong airport terminal, sometimes lack of pool and bathroom towels, sometimes no hot water - breakfast is very basic - other food in the restaurant is very good and not expensive. The swimming pool is very small. Located in Mas, a quiet, typical balinese village about 15 minutes by car from Ubud and in the direct neighbourhood there are many, many wood carver, painters, furniture manufacturers but no restaurants, pubs or markets and shops.

Hotel buiding is nice, but the room we had booked overlooking ricefields and Mount Agung was not that we expected. No ricefields overlooking, no Mount Agung overlooking!! This kind of room had another fee, of course. After our complaint, the Taman Harum staff acceeded to change our room at the same price. We stay only two days instead of four days we had booked. Shutle service to Ubud is really good. Taman Harum is really far to Ubud centre.

A nice hotel with friendly people and real Balinese rooms in a beautiful green, green garden. Great location for people who are into nice wood carvings. The wood carving gallery there is great...worth visiting.
