Talbot Hotel Wexford
4 out of 5

Well situated on the waterfront with dining and bar on site the Talbot offers weary travellers comfort and convenience. Only niggle was bathroom lighting not good for a close shave!

We are a trio of hard shopping ladies who like to share a large room to have our own party after a hard day's shopping. The Talbot met our needs perfectly and provided us with a family room that spaciously accommodated all three of us and our mountain of shopping in comfort. To top this the staff at the Talbot are a dream and really go out of their way to be helpful. The hotel boasts a spa and the facilities are brilliant. Great bar and restaurant too. We'll be going back again and again.

Hotel was well located for local shops, restaurants and the opera house. (They provided a free shuttle to the theater - less than a 10 minute walk when its NOT raining. Generous breakfast included in rate.

I found the bedrooms to be very dated in comparison to the rest of the hotel which is very modern. We were there for a wedding so didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The leisure centre is excellent and the food on both nights in the bar & at the wedding were fantastic.

Friend and myself stayed in July 2009. Nice breakfast didn't have dinner. Good parking. Decor very dark and old fashioned. Staff nice. Would stay again but not as a first preference. Big negative - no room safe.

No complaints, but I felt that the decor was dull and boring, and our view was about 2ft. from another room where children were staring out at us, necessitating curtain closure! However, the room was very comfortable, so for a 2-night stay it was fine.

The Talbot hotel is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff and a lovely leisure centre. The bar serves very good food and breakfast in the hotel was good too. It is in walking distance of the main town and has a lovely view of the sea.

i stayed in the talbot hotel during february this year with my daughter and both my parents. we had a lovely time. we found the staff very friendly and very efficient. the childrens facilities were run by two very efficient personnel while we were there. i couldnt fault any aspect of the activities the girls provided for the children or indeed any other aspect of the hotel or its staff. An excellent selection of menus are on display in the hotel, from the breakfast in the restaurant to the afternoon tea in the lobby, the all day bar foo menu and the exquisite dinner menu in the restaurant.....fab!

Excellent hotel, facilities and service. Stayed because of the great Hotel Club rate which made it far better value than the other Wexford hotels I have stayed in. Great attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble. With their WiFi capability, they even automatically provided outgoing smtp server details to set up Outlook. Nice touch for business people. Not had this in a hotel before. Will definitely stay again.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Talbot in Wexford and each time the standard of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff has been excellent. We will be using it again on our next trip to Ireland

Lovely hotel & the staff are very efficient & friendly. Location very good with just a few minutes walk to the town centre. It has a leisure centre which is adequate but cleanliness needs to be improved. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choices & the food served in the bar was excellent. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.
