Fribourg Climate
The climate of Fribourg is mild. Temperatures in summer rarely exceed 20ºC, and the winter averages only drop below zero on cold nights. Precipitation over the course of a year amounts to more than 1100 mm, falling mostly in the summer but spread throughout the year as both snow and rain.
Getting There & Around
Switzerland operates an extremely efficient rail service, known as the SBB, which reaches this city from a variety of locations, including the Geneva Airport. This latter location is just 140 km from Fribourg. The train trip takes less than two hours.
Walking is the best form of transportation in this small, historic city. However, there is also a public bus system in operation to navigate the streets of the modern city. A cable railway is available to take tourists up the steep hill to the Old City.
